i recently purchased this camera after my last olympus got hit by a car and i'm extrememly pleased with the upgrade!  i figured out the camera menu within minutes of opening the package! the battery even came partially charge so i could take some sample pics right away!  the movies and pictures are a nice change from the 6 megapixal i was using before!  this is a great point and shoot!

My mother gave her Olympus Stylus 701 to my daughter when my mother decided to upgrade her camera.  It is a great little camera that is really easy to use.  My daughter is only 8 years old and she was able to quickly pick up how to take good pictures and video with the camera (without having to mess around with complecated settings).  It is great for her because she can take picture after picture and I can go through and pick out the ones good enough to have printed.  I borrowed the camera when I took a trip to Washington D.C. as it is smaller and a newer/better camera than my Fuji.  I really liked it and I took some great pictures with it.  I used to have a big, expensive Minolta film camera so I am still getting used to the fact that little digital cameras take fabulous pictures. the camera fit into my fanny pack and was perfect for the trip.  The Stylus takes clear pictures, the screen is easy to see and the vidio it takes comes out realitively clear for a little camera. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a decent quality digital camera.

This camera takes great picutres. I love the screen and it is very easy to use. Its a bigger screen than some other cameras. Zoom capabilities are great. THe camera is sleek and light so i can carry it with me at all times. I havent used too many of the different types of picture settings but there are so many! Be careful because when using these different settings the camera becomes very sensitive to movement. The indoor/outdoor lighting setting is great. The action setting i have to figure out because i could have used that recently. I also have the red-eye redcution which is great. This camera is extremely easy to load onto the computer. I just hook it in and Olympus Master pops up and lets me download and save all my photos. You can crop and edit the photos in the Olympus Master program as well. You can also take videos on this camera which is a lot of fun. They can be viewed on olympus master and uploaded to sites as well.

I absolutely love my camera. I've had it for two years and have never had a problem with it. It takes amazing pictures, especially during the day and at sundown of the sun setting. It is one of those products you can never replace. Some people prefer more sophisticated equipment, but for me this is the best one. Also, I love the fact that it is an all weather camera so when it's snowing or lightly raining you can still take amazing pics. The memory I have for it takes in up to 500 or more pics and has the capacity of holding upto 45 minutes of video. I love that it's easy to figure out all the functions and it has many different modes to take great pictures. I really like that it has a still image function because many times I have shaky hands for what ever reason, but I switch the mode to this function and the picture comes out perfect. I would highly recommend this camera and the price was pretty good as well. I'm glad I bought this camera because I hated to deal with one time use cameras which you could easlily drop or forget somewhere and never see it or your pictures again.

I got the Olympus Stylus 710 digital camera for my graduation gift from my parents. The size of the camera was perfect. It's small enough that it actually fits into my pockets without feeling ultra bulky. Before taking a picture, it usually takes me a while to decide which settings I want it on. There are so many to choose from! Recently I discovered the "Behind Glass" setting which enables me to take pictures out the window or through the glass of an aquarium without the glass causing a glare. Once the picture is taken, there is a whole other set of features that enabled me to put frames around favorite pictures or insert the picture in a calendar or add text (predetermined sayings). So much fun! The only thing I did not like about the camera was that I could not take a photo in black and white. However, once the picture was taken, I could change it to be black and white.

I had another Olympus before this one, and I really loved that one. People used to always be jealous of my large view screen, and the same is true of this model. I think the ability to see the pictures after you take them and really see the detail at that moment is important. This one is about half as slim as that one, and the size is so much more convenient for carrying in my pocket if I need to keep it handy. This model also has a dial setting, as opposed to going into the menu function, for programming which kind of picture you're taking, i.e. landscape, landscape and portrait, night scene. This camera also has a very nice video function, and all the videos come out looking very nice and the sound is very crisp. The only function that I'm not as happy with is that you have to switch the dial to the review mode. There was also one on the last model, but there was also a little button to push to see the last picture taken. It was so convenient to just push a tiny button and be able to see the picture. It would stay on screen until the button to take a picture was pushed. So, now you have to switch the dial to show people the last shot and then switch the mode back to picture-taking, and it's just more of a hassle. Also, the camera I have was refurbished, and when we would take a picture, it would shut down. We sent it back to Olympus to get it fixed, and though they wanted to charge us because they thought it had been opened (being refurbished, of course it was opened), they ended up believing when we said it hadn't been and didn't charge us for the fix. Now, it works perfectly.

I was looking for the 610 model and found the 710 for around the same price.  I have always been impressed with Olympus's cameras.  This one rarely disappoints me. Nice a thin so it can fit in a shirt pocket. I have to say that I have never had the water spot problem on the larger lens cameras, but on every brand of smaller lense camera.  if you sneeze it may get on the lense. Im surprised there hasn;t been some kind of coating made ot coat these lenses for this problem.
