MY HAIR WAS LIFELESS AND FALLING OUT BEFORE I USED NIOXIN. IT HAS A REALLY NICE SMELL. WHEN I FIRSTED USED IT, IT KIND OF TINGLED A LITTLE BIT WHEN I PUT IT IN MY HAIR AND WAS MASSAGING INTO MY SCALP. YOU HAVE TO LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE RINSING IT OUT. MY HAIR WAS REALLY SOFT AND MANAGABLE JUST AFTER THE FIRST TIME USING NIOXIN. IT ALSO MAKE MY SCALP REFRESHED NO LONGER FELT DRY AND SCRATCHY. Scalp Recovery by NIOXIN truely is the best dandroff shampoo I have ever used in my 20 years of working as a licensed Cosmetologist. It is a three part system. Shampoo. Conditioner. And a leave in scalp treatment. The conditioner is Optional. The shampoo and treatment are must dos. For mild cases the shampoo will work alone. Anything other than mild cases you must use the leave in treatment. And of course the leave in treatment cost the most. Anything that truely works usually does.I only use it once a week and use my regular shampoo the rest of the time and my dandruff is completely gone no flakes no itching. I purchased this product from the salon where I had just had my hair cut. I have always been told that although I have a lot of hair, my hair is considered thin. I told the hair stylist that I had been having a lot of problems with my hair becoming really flat. She said that my hair appeared to be very healthy and in good condition. She recommended that I try this scalp treatment to see if it helped improve the problems I was having with my hair going flat. I purchased it in the hopes it would do exactly that. I found instead that it weighed my hair down even more, so I quit using it after about a week. I spoke to the hair stylist again and she said I was probably just using too much. I tried again- using about a dime size for my shoulder length hair. I still had the same problems. I then tried only using it one to two days a week and even then it appeared to make my hair go flat quickly. I decided after all of this that apparently Nioxin Scalp Therapy just was not the conditioning treatment that was best for me. It was too heavy.
