Nintendo - DS Lite Console Review Summary

Reviewers agree that the Nintendo DS Lite is one of the best portable video game consoles available. Consumers love that the Nintendo DS Lite is compatible with original Nintendo DS and Gameboy Advance games, so gamers can play up to 400 video games on the system! As one reviewer mentioned: "There are titles for young kids all the way to the hard core gaming adult." The Nintendo DS Lite's vibrant graphics and wireless chatting and gaming capabilities also appeal to consumers. The main complaint most people cited about the Nintendo DS Lite was the ease with which the stylus pen, a detachable plastic pen used as a controller to play certain Nintendo DS Lite games, could be lost. Consumers also feel the games are somewhat expensive. Regardless, the Nintendo DS Lite stacks up as a great video game console for every age.

I had a Game Boy Advance system that I never used because it was difficult to see the screen. The lighting was very dim. Since the new Nintendo DS came out, I've wanted to get one. I finally bought the Nintendo DS Lite over a year ago at Sam‘s Club. I just love this handheld video...

I've had every game boy since the original - in fact, I still like to play my original Tetris game.  I loved the improvements that came with Game Boy Advance, so I was excited when dh gave me this as a gift.

Unlike every other GB incarnation, this one cannot play all old cartridges - it can play most...

For Christmas, each of my boys (ages 6 and 9) received onyx black Nintendo DS Lite Consoles.  I honestly didn't know much about these little game consoles and what they could do.  After seeing the excitement on my sons' faces, I realized that they must be pretty special.   Since these were gifts, I am not sure what was paid at the time but I do know that they are selling online for around $130.

The Facts

  • It's less than two-thirds the size of the original Nintendo DS and more than 20 percent lighter.
  • Its two bright screens can be adjusted to four levels to adapt to different lighting conditions...

The Nintendo Dual Screen (or DS) Lite is the second version of their portable console originally introduced in 2004. The system is not only smaller and more sleek then the older model now but it even comes with a brighter screen with multiple settings as well fans should love. See why if you haven't got a DS yet this is definitely a good time to start.

The good thing about working at a gamestore is that I can compare the two systems side by side. The big difference between this version over the bulky older DS is definitely the weight. I loved my old DS but it was annoying how when I put it my back...

This is a review about a toddler and Nintendo DS Lite

We have been trying to think of a "easy" way to get our daughter to give up the pacifier and as all parents know its a very difficult and traumatic habit to break.

My step daughter (9) was here for a visit and brought her Nintendo DS Lite. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter fell in love with it. Although she couldnt play any game my step daughter had, she played a long time with the stylus and screen.

We started talking to her about giving up her pacifier and surprisingly she agreed to give it up if we purchased her a Nintendo DS Lite just like her...

In 2004 when the ds 1st came out we had bought one for my older son for christmas... I was hooked from the day he got it. Christmas 2006 i was joyfuly suprised to get a ds lite for christmas and my kids were probably quite happy that id be leaving theirs alone..The ds lite is the perfect portable game system and has great variety of games for both kids and adults and its portability makes it quite nice when traveling too.

When you're approaching the half way point in a multi-hour drive, you'll be glad that you bought your kid that Nintendo - DS Lite Console.

Our daughter, Jenna has always been a big electronics and especially Nintendo fan.  Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS and now the DS Lite.  Put one of these in her hands and she can create magic and entertain herself for hours.

I'm not sure just how many Nintendo Dogs she now has, but they can often be heard barking in the rear seat of our car.  Often when we're traveling with her friends they all play together using their own consoles.

The Nintendo - DS...

The nintendo ds lite has great games that will match the interests of any person.  They offer video games, role playing, board games, strategy, trivia, self-improvement, etc.  The price of the system runs about $130 and I have not seen a game that costs over $40 (many are around $20).  Another plus to this system is that is is equipped to also play GameBoy Advance Game paks.  Other great points about the system is that it has a touch screen and it is equipped with the ability to chat and multiplayer with wireless WiFi.

I have a nine year old brother and he loves to play video games! Ps2, wii, Nintendo - DS Lite, xbox... you name it he likes to play it. Im not really into all of those but I did find that the ds is a fun way for him and I to play games together or vs each other. I also like the fact that you can get learning games for the Nintendo - DS Lite. My mom even likes to play it because of the all the puzzle games they have and she isn't into console games! So DS lite is a fun console for everyone all ages!!

I am not big on video games. I never play with our PlayStation or Xbox 360. I am not coordinated enough to use all the buttons and joysticks and it is more frustrating than fun for me. But I saw the brain teaser games on the TV and I wanted to try it out. My husband got me the pink Nintendo DS lite for my birthday. I also got BrainAge and Big Brain Academy. I love this type of game because it makes you think so it's more interesting to me than some kind of action game. So far this type of game is only available on DS or for personal computer.

The DS lite is small and compact and the games are...

The Nintendo Ds Lite console is an interesting and fun item. You can chat with your friends, you can link up with friends to play the same games too. It can play Nintendo DS games or the other Gameboy Advance games. The light is bright and can be played in the dark. Having a rechargable battery is great and not having to worry about purchasing batteries is great.

I feel the system is tough and durable and can vary from users from young like preschool on up. A good buy in todays society of video game playing,

I am twenty years old and I got this two years ago for Christmas. And I love it!! I love video games in general of course. But this makes it so that I can travel. I can play games on the bus. Its also great because most of the games for the DS are puzzle games and those are my favorite. I also love that it has two screens it makes it even more fun. I would say that regardless of age you should get this. Its great.

I bought my Nintendo DS Lite a couple of years ago prior to my deployment and now that I am on my second deployment I am very pleased with my purchase. This is a great little machine to carry with you around the world or just across the street. Here in Afghanistan I take my DS with me everywhere I go because I never know when I will have some down time where I need to kill time and the DS is great to kill time.

The one issue that I thought that I was going to run into with the DS was a lack of games geared towards adults. This has actually been less of an issue than I would have thought partly...

The Nintendo DS Lite is my favorite handheld system so far. It comes in lots of different colors and designs-mine is plain white. The games that you can buy for it range from Nintendo classics like Mario to new Nintendo games like Brain Age. My favorite one is Animal Crossing Wild World. A downside of the system is that games tend to be expensive ($40). You can also play GameBoy Advance games on the DS. Certain games can also be connected to the Nintendo Wii (for instance, for Animal Crossing City Folk, you can "tansport" your character on your DS to bring to another Wii). I really like that the...
