Probably the worst natural shampoo I've ever used!

from Camp Lejeune, NC

Comments about Nature's Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo:

Just about all of my body care products are all natural. Most have been great products that I have purchased more than once, but unfortunately, Natures Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo is a product that I will never buy again.

**Natures Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo** is made with all natural ingredients, isn't tested on animals, is paraben-free and petroleum-free. It is a shampoo designed for hair that is styled, processed, color-treated or affected by the environment. It is by far, the best smelling shampoo that I've ever used. Unfortunately, that's all it has going for it.

Natures Gate says the following about this product:

- Contains the strengthening benefits of horsetail and sage

- Infused with an array of botanicals targeted to help revitalize distressed hair

- Helps promote shiny, vibrant, healthy-looking hair

I wonder if I washed my hair everyday, would I still experience this problem, or is it just not clarifying enough for every other wash? Regardless, I wouldn't buy this shampoo or its matching [conditioner][2] again. It's too bad, because the scent and the ingredients are both great.

I don't wash my hair every day. In between washings, I use my wonderful [Blow Faux Dry dry shampoo][1] , and that takes care of oil on my roots. When I have used **Natures Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo**, you could *almost* tell I never shampooed my hair. Yes, my roots do look somewhat better, but not totally clean. What's the point in a shampoo if it doesn't thoroughly clean my hair? Yesterday after using this shampoo, I had to put my hair up because I couldn't stand the feeling of my hair. That's bad

I would give this shampoo 5 stars if the rating was based on scent. It smells like pomegranate, cranberries and a general fruitiness that is amazing.

Nature's Gate is the only brand of shampoo that works for me.

Comments about Nature's Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo:

I've been a fan of Nature's Gate shampoos for the last several years now. I have a hair type that the vast majority of manufacturers simply do not cater to - fine and extremely oily. Additionally, my hair is color-treated, so a typical clarifying shampoo is out. In addition to being designed to moisturize dry hair, I found regular "color safe" shampoos to fade my dye just as badly as ones not marked for dyed hair.

All of that changed when I found Nature's Gate. Great for oil control (despite never being labeled as such) and practically zero dye fade (even the varieties that aren't labeled for it!) - it is the perfect solution for hair like mine! Although I must say I prefer the (apparently discontinued) In Living Color to this in terms of leaving hair ultra soft, this is the second best choice. Don't get me wrong, Pomegranate Sunflower leaves hair feeling soft as well - but In Living Color was just that much better. I could not stop touching my own hair in amazement after that one.

Pomegranate Sunflower has a delightful, almost candy-like fragrance and is much less drying than the other Nature's Gate shampoos I've used (one of which led me to buy a bottle of conditioner, for the first time in my life that I actually needed any) - while still keeping my hair from becoming a grease slick. Just like the other Nature's Gate products I've used, it is super gentle on dye. I strongly recommend it for anyone who has my hair type and feels frustrated!

Nature's Gate shampoo is awesome

Comments about Nature's Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Hair Defense Shampoo:

I felt like my hair was braking off and getting really damaged so I wanted a shampoo that was natural with no harsh fillers in it and started researching natural brands. I settled on Nature's gate Pomegranate sunflower hair defense because it was natural and smells really great. I loved the list of ingredients and the claims it made so I gave it a try. The price was really good for the value and the size. I really like this shampoo it is really gentle and cleans my hair really great. I feel like my hair is healthier already. The only quarel I would have is that you have to work at it a little to get a good lather going. but you do not have to use very much of it. my hair feels silky and healthier and I have only been using it for about two months now. I feel like it workds great at fixing damaged hair. I will continue to use it and would recommend this shampoo to anyone not just people with damaged hair
