My son chewed the Cupsicle more than a popsicle

2

I wanted my boys to move past the sippy cups, yet still keep milk and juice off my floor and furniture. This prompted looking for straw or sports cups to use instead. One of the first ones we purchased was the Munchkin Cupsicle Insulated Straw Cup. I believe this cup only lasted a little while in our home. The Cupsicle is an insulated cup that is designed to be spill proof, yet a straw cup instead of sippy. Sounds great right? Well yes and no. The Cupsicle does alright with insulating warm in. Unfortunately I was trying to keep the milk cold. The top is supposed to be spill proof consisting of a two-piece straw/valve system. The when you're on the go, the top closes to keep the straw clean and safe. My kids enjoyed the new straw cup and it was easy to drink from. This is about where the benefits ended. The straw was difficult to clean and put together. On top of that, the top straw is made from silicone to be flexible. Unfortunately, this did not fit well with my oldest son who likes to chew on everything. Within a few weeks, he had the straw chewed down to a stump, rendering it useless.

really easy to use and clean

This cup is so easy to assemble and to clean, which if you have ever used a cup with a straw you know they can be a pain. My boys really like when they get a nice cold glass of water or juice on a hot day and I love that I don't have to refill ice trays every five minutes to keep up. I really like the variety in the cups designs too, it makes it a lot easier to tell who's is who's when you can tell the patterns apart. I have already bought about 6 of these cups and now I don't even use the other sippy cups I have. I would recommend this cup to any parent or caretaker that wants an easy to use cup that the kids really enjoy, and the best part is they are spill proof.

Great cup for toddlers not quite ready to give up a sippy cup

Both of my older children loved these cups! We used them from aprox 1 year until 2 years of age. They lasted forever, usually the kids lost the cup before it became worn. My best advice is to remember to take the straw out and apart for cleaning. With my firstborn, I ddin't realize it need to be taken apart for cleaning, until a baby sitter was washing the cup and pulled it apart... it was gross!

Great sippy cup

We own three of these cups. My daughter loves them!!! I have never had any problems with these cups leaking like other sippy cups we have tried. With the spout sippy cups, my daughter had to tilt her head back to drink from them and a lot of her drink would end up on her shirt. Thanks to the Munchkin Straw cup, she now can drink on her own and not end up all wet. My daughter can also shake this cup upside down and it will not leak! I also like how it has a flip top where the straw folds down into the cup. This makes travelling with the cup super easy travel and helps to keep the straw clean when not being used. The only negative that I can mention is that it is kinda difficult to take the straw out to wash it and put it back into the cup the first time. Once you do it a time or two, it is no problem. I can take the straw out, wash the cup and straw out, and then get it all back together in a flash.

Not a fan at all!

We purchased this product in order to get our daughter a cup that she could easily take on the go and as well, to get her to learn how to sip from a straw. I quickly realized that not all of the pieces (like the straw) should be placed in the dishwasher, because there's no way for them to actually get cleaned in the dishwasher, which I hate due to the sanitizing setting of our dishwasher. We've also had trouble with our daughter being able to "fling" the straw and enclosed liquid with her teeth on the straw. On the positive, I haven't had any trouble with this cup leaking though. It's just not worth the value of the positives to have to reassemble each piece of the cup each time for usage though. In my opinion, a standard sippy cup works much better, both due to have far less pieces to clean and dis/reassemble, as well there seems to be less chance of leaks. The whole design of this cup just isn't good at all.

This cup leaks horribly

1

It seems that perhaps many other reviewers haven't had the same problem as I.  In my experience, these cups leaked terribly. If my daughter accidentally knocked one over with the straw up, I'd have a huge puddle to clean.  Even with the top closed, the cups leaked when they were not perfectly upright, which made carrying them in a diaper bag impossible.  I bought a two pack of these cups, and I had the same problem with both, so it doesn't seem that I just got a bad cup.   Another problem with these cups is that it takes a stronger-than-normal suction to drink from the straw.  That makes them difficult for kids who are just learning how to use sippy cups.  Admittedly, they were much easier to use than the kind of cups with the straws that the kids have to bite to drink from.  Those are by far the worst. Anyways, I hate that these cups are so awful because they are much cheaper than Playtex cups with straws.  I guess one gets what he pays for, though.

Munchkin cup is not perfect, but I liked it.

I bought this cup to add to our collection of a zillion straw cups because I had yet to find one I liked. This one was a good purchase and was a clear winner in the straw cup race. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough that it became my favorite cup. Yes it would leak occasionally if the "lid" part wasn't totally down, but it did not leak as much or as often as other cups. I liked the shape of the cup because it wasn't bulky and was easy for my daughter to hold. I liked the design of the part that closed the straw down in that it leaked less than others, but I did not like the fact that it was hard for my daughter to close and nearly impossible for her to open. You have to be kind of strong to do this. My main complaint though is that cleaning this cup was a total pain in the rear. Whenever I pulled the straw out to clean the whole cup thoroughly, I would have the hardest time getting it back in. I ended up devising this sort of MacGyver way of doing it with a bobby pin.

Great cups!!! Fits BOB stroller snack tray/Car seat adapter

These cups are great.  They will leak if not tightened. Don't be afaid to tighten too tight, because the vent is in the silicone staw.  We love that these are insulated too.  A plus is that they fit our BOB stroller snack tray/ infant car seat adapter.  For some reason the folks at BOB decided to put a really small hole for the cup.  I am sure it has something to do with running or exercise safety.  Anyway, we have use these for a couple of years and they are great.

good for kids

This drinking cup is good for my kids to use. It is large enough to fit a lot of juice or water inside it so that my kids do not get dehydrated during the day. I like the straw in the cup because it helps the kids to make less of a mess. The cup is easy for my kids to hold when they use it and it is also very good for the summer. I can put the cup in the freezer the night before, then fill it with juice the night before I use it so that it is effective in keeping the drink cool in the hot weather. This cup is easy to clean even though it has the straw in it. The straw in this cup is easy to remove so that I can clean it. I always make sure to clean the straw as soon as I get home so that it does not get moldy or start growing bacteria. One thing that bugs me about this cup is the straw quality. It is quite flimsy and and it also bends a lot when my son uses it. I usually buy a few replacement straws to keep on hand so that when one becomes too old to use, I can replace it.

This cup never leaked, my daughter loved it!

We loved the Munchkin Insulated Straw cup, never had it leak.  The straw was hard to put in the first time, but once you got the hang of it, it was great.  My daughter loved that it had a straw, she felt like a big girl!
