Well It Does Make Calls
***Bottom-Line***: Nice free phone, but surf the Internet with it; Not! Like most people who work in the computer field I now carry a BlackBerry Smartphone; the touchscreen *Storm* to be exact. But, I also have a personal cellular phone. Why, you may ask? Well, just in case I start working less than full-time, I will need a call phone to fall back on. My personal carrier is *AT&T* and when my *Motorola Moto Q* PDA came up for renewal (upgrade), I decided to pass on the Smartphone option and head directly for the bargain basement, free phone; in this case the **LG GU295 3G **slide-phone. **The Product ** The sleek, black **LG GU295 3G** available on from AT&T features a 1.3-megapixel camera and camcorder, a music player with access to AT&T Mobile Music, text and multimedia messaging, and 3G support. The 3.71 oz. **LG GU295 3G** is a dual-band (WCDMA\GSM 850/900/1800/1900) device that offers anytime/anywhere access to personal e-mail, text, and a Web browser, and hidden keyboard. **My Viewpoint** After using a fully dedicated Smartphone for the last four or so years, a plain cellular phone seems, well, blasé. The screen on the **LG GU295 3G **is small, and the icon as fuzzy and almost unreadable. Although the phone ships with 3G browsing Internet on the **LG GU295 3G** is almost useless, but phone reception is good. Standby talk time is about 96 hours real-time. So, when all is said and done, I do not actually carry the **LG GU295 3G**; I have all of calls forwarded to my BlackBerry.
