I bought the KitchenAid Architect II Superba Series Built-In Dishwasher in Stainless Steel after reading Consumer Reports and debating for weeks. Overall, I've been happy with it. It is quieter than any other dishwasher that we have had, but it is not exactly silent. It does make significant noise every once in a while, but it doesn't last the whole time. It takes a long time to clean the dishes (as does every water saving dishwasher), so be aware. The "stainless" panel doesn't clean up very well at all. I haven't found a product that makes it look anything less than streaky. Not what I expected when I paid extra for stainless. We have well water, so I don't feel like I can comment too much on cleaning power. I will say that egg doesn't get removed, so clean off utensils and dishes that have cooked egg on them.

We purchased this to replace the old dishwasher that came with our home, because I wanted one with lots of space.  This dishwasher can fit about 50% more dishes than the smaller one we parted with.  The dishes always come out sparkling clean, even when my husband loads the dishwasher and fails to spread them out enough.  I normally don't even have to use the recommended amount of detergent to get the job done.  I usually use about half of the recommended amount of detergent.  I also love how this model looks.  We have all Kitchenaid stainless appliances, and it it looks great with the rest.  It even comes with a small bottle of stainless steel cleaner, but you can do an online search for a homemade stainless steel cleaner that will work fine on this dishwasher.  It is very easy to keep clean on the outside!  I just love my Kitchenaid dishwasher!  I wish we had bought one a long time ago!

I bought this dishwasher years ago and love it! It's easy to use, not too technical and works great! It's very easy to load and the dishes come out clean. I do rinse my dishes if i'm not going to run it right away, but don't rinse if I know the load is almost full. It's quiet, runs fast and has a feature for a power save dry which I love. I always use the power save and sometimes have to dry my dishes a little before putting them away, but I could NOT live without it. Kitchen aid has great customer service, too. I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher several years ago when I bought my new house. I had a portable dishwasher in my old house and the new house had a dishwasher but no refrigerator. So we found a new refrigerator but the existing dishwasher didn't match, so we bought them as a matching set. Within a year I had to have the repairman out for both the dishwasher and the refrigerator, good thing I had an extended warranty's on them both. I haven't had to call the repairman since. I have noticed that the dishwasher hansn't cleaned the dishes as well as the portable or the one that was in the house when I moved into it. This is my forth dishwasher and I would rate it the last of the four in cleaning my dishes. That best looking one of the four. The adjustable top rack makes it easy to adjust for all different sizes of glass ware. But I wouldn't recommend washing bake ware in it or baked on pans, So most of the time I feel like I wash things twice. But overall it's an average dishwasher for the price, Next time I'll do a little more research before I buy the pretty one that matches the refrigerator.
