Crackin' Oat Bran: My Go-To Afternoon Snack

By

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal:

I am the kind of person that can eat cereal any time of the day or night but Crackin' Oat Bran is one of my favorites. It isn't sugar coated nor is it sweet but the crunch and flavor had me hooked the first time I tried it. While it is expensive, when it's on sale and I have coupons I will buy as many boxes as I can. I am the only one in the house that loves it so I know no one else is going to eat it.

Even though this isn't sugar coated it has a great taste to it; you can pick up on a little bit of cinnamon but the whole grain oats sort of overpower everything else in the cereal. If given the choice I'd rather have a couple handfuls of this cereal than potato chips or pretzels as a snack. There are six grams of dietary fiber per serving so it helps with digestion as well as helping you get the most from your snack or breakfast.

When I am making apple cinnamon muffins I take a cup of Crackin' Oat Bran and smash it up in a bag and mix it with some turbinado sugar then sprinkle it on the tops of the muffins before I bake them. The combination of the cereal and the turbinado sugar gives the muffin top a crunchy mouthfeel.

Most kids will try this and push the bowl away because it doesn't have a sweet sugary taste to it but I love it. Most of the time I eat it without milk because I like the crunch of it. This will stay firm in milk for about eight minutes so if you want to eat it softer, let it sit for about ten minutes. This is also a great thing to add to yogurt if you break it up in a bag.

Sweet and Crunchy Delight

By

Comments about Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal:

Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal has great taste baked into every sweet, crunchy bite. It's made with: oats, brown sugar, flakes of coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I think the nutmeg and coconut makes it extra special. It also has a fun shape! It's delicious for breakfast, as a snack, or even dessert! It doesn't get soggy in milk. Since it is made with whole grains, it has more substance to it, so you feel satisfied longer.

The only negatives would be that it is higher in calories and fat; also, it is a more expensive cereal.

The king of delicious cereals.

Comments about Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal:

Cracklin' Oat Bran is one of the most satisfying cold cereals out there. It takes like oatmeal cookies and is relatively high in fat, sugar, and fiber. It is a cereal you might be tempted to binge on, but, because it is so filling, it is difficult to eat more than one bowl. I would suggest that, in the end, it might be more healthful than other sugar cereals, because it is more filling and satisfying. I don't eat this cereal too often, but I always feel like I'm treating myself when I do.

Delicious at the cost of your waist!

Comments about Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal:

Cracklin' Oat Bran is #2 on the list of most delicious cereals.  Yet, this is one that I do not eat very often because of the high fat content. And let's be honest, in one serving the amount of calories for how much fiber you get really isn't worth it to be called healthy.  So if you want a great tasting, crunchy, and different cereal give it a try.  If you want fiber try FiberOne
