I have 143 hours on mine, only thing I can say is it tends to drag my battery down. I use it year-round for snowplowing and yard mowing. I am completely satisfied! Much more enjoyable than my craftsman!

I have had this lawn tractor since 2010. Briggs engine 19 hp engine has 355 hrs. I changed oil and filter every 50 hrs as called out in maintenance manual. A few weeks ago started burning oil. Uses about 16 oz oil after an 1hr mowing.

The mower was good until I hit 200 hours and it started to burn oil and my clothes always smelled of burning oil. at 208 hours I get a huge puff oil blue smoke regularly while mowing. Its to the point where I have to add 3-6 oz after ever 1 hour of cutting. This is totally unacceptable and should not happen with this low hours. I deem this mower unacceptable and a big negative for the motor manufacturer (Briggs & Stratton)

We bought this mower in 2010- it was in the shop within 3 months after it refused to start anytime you ran it for more than 10 minutes. You would have to let it sit for hours before starting again. The problem occurred again in 2012 and was fixed and again in 2014 and fixed for a third time. This year we sold the piece of junk and swore never to touch John Deere again. Nothing fails to crank like a Deere!

I like this tractor and it does do the job but there are a few issues we are having with it. Don't get me wrong it is 10 years old now so it could be the age that is causing the problems. The main issues are the exhaust and starting it. We bought starter fluid and that has helped and our neighbor welded a piece of the exhaust back together so that seems to have helped as well. Performance The blades seem to cut the grass and ours has a vacuum on it so leaf pick up has been so much better than years passed. We can get the whole yard cut in a half an hour and leaves picked up and bagged within an hour. Our yard is almost a full acre. Handling It maneuvers around the yard great. When I drive it I tend to get a little crazy so it does handle my steering. Durability It definitely is showing its age between the starter and the exhaust giving us issues. So far it seems like we have fixed the problems so I hope it stays that way.

I bought the 115 in 2007 and I've had really no issues with it. i live in Florida, do it gets used all year. I've got ~ 160 hours, synthetic oil and filter every year, air filter every 50 hours, keep it clean, and grease the fittings regularly. Problems? My steering gear is wearing, so the steering has some play. the mower deck paint is starting to peel in small areas. Seems to be a common thing. The B&S motor has been flawless though! This mower is similar to the Lowes/Home Depot variety mowers, like Cub Cadet. Not as well made as a real John Deere, but fine for someone like me that mows a half an acre once a week.

My husband just purchased the John Deere LA115 model  ride on mower after moving to a larger property this past year.  We have 5 young sons and not a lot of time to spare on weekends.  The quality and service of John Deere cannot be beat!  My husband spent a lot of time comparison shopping.  When he ordered the lawnmower, part of the deal is that it is delivered already put together, tank full of gas and they start it up for you and show you how everything works. When your mower needs servicing you have the option of having them come to your house and servicing it there.  My husband is very happy with the horsepower of the mower as our property is hilly.  The seat is very comfortable and it mows very nicely.  It takes him about 45 min to mow our entire property. This mower also has many attachments that can be pruchased separately making it the perfect little tractor as well. Overall, if you are looking for a ride on mower you cannot beat the quality and service of a John Deere!

Last year was my first year in which we had a valid need for a riding mower. We relocated from suburbia into a country home with one acre of land. We quickly realized that there was a huge need for efficiency and power. John Deere is a very reliable mower with a very steady and strong engine. It is easy to start and it does not require gear changes which can sometimes prove challenging. While the engine is slightly loud (This is something that you can't avoid with tractor-mowers). The overall noise pollution should not be a detractor from buying this product. The seat is comfortable and very ergonomic. Driving it is easy and maneuverability compares to other brands in the same category. The tires are of good size and seldom damage the ground even if you mow with slightly wet conditions. A very important thing when mowing is to have a sharp blade. The John Deere blade remains sharp for a long time. Overall this mower is a great value

I recently bought a new John Deere la 115 riding mower from lowe's. The end of year price, freee lawn car and 18 month no interest payments were too much to turn down. i already have a Troybilt riding mower that I have been using for 4 years but I have really never liked it that much. Then jon deere la 115 runs circles around the troybilt from my experience. I like the rid and the position that you are in on the la115. I like the location under the seat and the easy read of the gasoline level. The blase adjutment is great. i lke the location of the oil drain plug compared to the troybilt. The briggs and stratton 19.5 hp engine gives the john deere plenty of power. The steering is almost as easy as  a car. I used to own a john deere riding mower over 15 years ago that was a rear engine mount. It was a lemon fromg the start. I said that I would never buy another john deere but i finally cahnged my mind. So far so good with the john deere la115 riding mower.
