We just had a baby and purchased this camcorder just before delivering her. We wanted to make sure we had a camcorder that would be reliable to tape her first bath at the hospital and yet not one that would break the bank. I saw a lot of online reviews for the JVC Everio and decided to go with it. So far, I am very happy with it! The quality of the video is very good. Also, it is a very user-friendly camcorder and easy to operate. The playback is very easy to use. The camera itself is very lightweight and portable, and I also like that you can flip the screen to face out. I saw some reviews that the sound quality is not great, but so far I haven't noticed that this is an issue. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. While it's not the most professional camcorder and is "just the basics," I'd definitely recommend it to someone looking for a fairly inexpensive yet decent-quality camcorder.

We finally decided it was time to purchase a video camera.  We really don't have too high of expectations when it comes to electronics...we really just wanted something to document of family's daily activities.  I am very happy with the JVC Everio camcorder so far.  I really love the 45x zoom...you can zoom on things that are really far away.  The SD card makes it very easy to upload the video on to the computer.  My child loves it when I'm recording and I turn the screen so she/he can see her/himself.  I haven't really taken the time to go over the owner's manual and how to operate it, but it's pretty simple to figure out.  I can tell that it's not the best quality...both equipment wise and the quality of the video it produces, but it was a really good price and it is giving us what we wanted.  If you're not super picky about quality and want a good deal, I would definitely recommend this camcorder.

I've had this camcorder quite a while and I know this cam's tricks. Luckily I didn't pay any money for it because I won it from a competition. I'm really disappointed and I have really big list to mention poor things about it. Firstly, it's not even a real 16:9 aspect ratio camera although you can choose 4:3 or 16:9 in the menus. When you upload videos to PC, they are all in 4:3 ratio! The PC program which comes with the camera plays this cam's videos in 16:9 mode, but they are still native 4:3 if you play them with any usual video player. Semipro or professional video editing programs are must with this camera so that you can fake 16:9 picture with it. Video quality itself is poor. I can shoot this kind of video quality in my old Canon and Panasonic digital still cameras which has an option to shoot videos. Even if you shoot all of your videos in Ultra Fine mode, the quality is not that great. What I like a little is the menus and "Laser Touch Operation" screen which is in LCD. It's not a real touch screen so you have a touch-slide and buttons. It handles quite well, but the operation sounds are pretty annoying (but you can turn them off). But this "touch screen" is no near so smooth if you compare it to iPhones and stuff like that. Sound quality is good and dual SD memory slots are also great. This is not a expensive camcorder, but for my money I would buy a HD camera anytime for this cam. This JVC cam fits great to your pocket, but its features are poor.

This is a very basic camcorder but it does the job we need it to. I really like the 45x zoom. You can see things from forever away in perfect quality. Its small and light weight. Its easy to take around and very easy to operate. My kids love when I pull it out because they like to act all crazy and then watch themselves back on the screen. My only complaints are that if you stop recording even for a second it makes it a new video. (This is because of the SD card so it is to be expected in any camera like its form) The reason I don't like this is because you can't rewind and delete just part of the video, if there is something you don't like you have to delete the whole thing. Also, I don't like that it can't take normal pictures like other camcorders do. We thought it did and that is one of the reasons we bought it but we were wrong. Overall though I think it is a good camcorder and we are happy with our purchase.
