First of all, the Ion brand has lasting power. I purchased my Ion flat iron 6 years ago and it still works like a charm to this day. For a few years, that flat iron was used daily if not more than once in a day. As the years have gone on, I have started to use my flat iron less simply because of the damage any flat iron will do to hair with repeated use over an extended period of time. However, this flat iron was a cheaper alternative to a CHI, which I have also used before, and it worked just as well. The Ion brand doesn't seem to have as much personalization for flat irons (such as patterned face plates or several colors of face plates) but I do not think that is necessary when you have a genuinely excellent product. This flat iron makes my extremely thick and curly hair pin straight and thin-looking, which is my desired effect. I adore the Ion brand and I think it is the clear alternative to spending extra money on a CHI flat iron. Durability It has lasted six years and is still working like it was the first day I bought it.

I purchased this flat iron over 2 years ago when my CHI had to be sent to the manufacturer's for repair. I have since received my CHI back, but have continued to use this flat iron because I like it so much. It really does condition your hair while straightening it. And it heats up really quickly. I have dropped it a few times but even over the course of two years use, it still works well and leaves my hair with a conditioned sheen. It cost a little more than other irons I had looked at (although not as much as my CHI) but I am glad I spent the extra when I purchased it. It has been well worth the money!

The Ion** **Conditioning Ceramic Natural Ionic Energy with Tourmaline flat iron is by far the best flat iron I have used. I have long thick hair that can be a pain to straighten and this flat iron makes it so easy to do. First of all I love the long cord. It doesn't tangle and is long enough for me to plug it in and set on my vanity without having to worry about it falling off because of a short cord. The heat setting on this are perfect. I can set it up to 400 degrees which I use on my hair underneath for the perfect straightening. It has a easy to read display and easy to set temperature settings. I love how this makes my hair feel soft after running this flat iron on my hair. It seems like it really does condition it! It is perfect size for me to get that added curl at the bottom of my hair. I have also used it to add awesome curls over my whole head. It is like having two products in one!!! Overall I love this product and highly recommend it to anyone!

The first flat iron I used was my mom's expensive one she bought out in the mall - can't remember the brand but it seemed to do the job.  Then I found the ION at Sally's - cheaper but WAY better!  It maintains the temperature needed for my thick hair and it was much safer than using my old-fashioned flat iron that you have to put in a styling oven.  I've always been a person that likes to do my own hair; going to the salon only when I needed/wanted the professionally-done look but now I never go to the salon now because with the ION I can get the same bone-straight look myself.  For me it's actually better because I can style it exactly how I want and like rather than pay for a style that I pretend to like and try to fix as soon as I'm out the salon door! :)  I was able to improve the health of my hair because I wasn't burning it off with the oven styling tools and it looked so great that I started making a little money on the side doing other people's hair!  I love my ION!
