I bought this hair straightener after having 2 top of the line salon brand straighteners. I simply did not have the money to spend on another one. I am pleasantly surprised with this straightener! It heats up very hot and straightens smoothly. It takes a couple more runs of my hair to get it straight, but it works very well. I don't feel much hair breakage either. Also, I love how it turns off after 45 minutes! This is great for me considering I've left my straightener on for hours before! I would definitely recommend this straightener.

I give this product an overall satisfactory rating. This is because it did not actually curl my hair. Part of that would be because I have nothing to hold on to on the opposite end of the handle...for some reason, I don't see any on any Styling Irons. It makes it too cumbersome to use, especially since the other end is hot. Also, it did not have a resting agent on it for when you need to lay it down to portion off the next section you want to process. Effectiveness I could not get an actual curl, even though it says that it is also used to curl. My hair is pretty short. It has a picture on the box of someone with very short hair and it was used to curl her hair. Durability I haven't used it long enough to know the durability.

This iron is great.  I work on thick course hair with no problem.  I pick it up at Sally and it came with a free smaller iron.  They're lite weigh and really heat up fast.  in less than a minute.

I paid around 50 bucks at Sally's Beauty Supply Store for this beautifully sculpted flat iron. Not only is it's silvery gray color nice to look at, but I love what it does to my hair.  After a washing, my hair is a big frizzy afro.  With a spray of a bit of oil sheen, and sectioning my hair, and running the flat iron down each small parted section slowly, my hair is straight, shiny, and slightly bumped at the ends the way I like it.  I love that this flat iron by Hot N Silky is only an inch thick.  This makes its effectiveness in flattening and straightening your hair as good as a chi iron. This feature also makes the iron easy to handle and use. Another great quality about this flat iron is it has a temperature heat setting that you can change to your liking.  Once plugged in and turned on, it heats up super quick (about 30 seconds!), so you don't have to wait long for it to get hot before you start flat ironing your hair.  It also has automatic shut off so if it's on for too long, it turns off on its on.
