I would say in a small space like a small bedroom,this is a good choice.its small enough to lift the window just a bit,yet puts out a good amount of breeze for its size.I slept well in the steamy heat of Florida at night with this fan Durability this only lasted one summer

I have this Holmes window fan as well as a Honeywell window fan and this is by far the better unit. The quality and materials are much higher in the Holmes than the Honeywell, which is flimsy and feels cheap in comparison. You can choose to draw air in or blow air out. During the day, you want to draw the hot air from inside the room out obviously. I found that this was not very useful but this is not the fault of the fan itself. There's only so much you can do about cooling the room when it is so hot outside. This I would say is more of an air circulation feature than a cooling feature. During the evening however, it makes a huge difference. After a long day of baking in the sun, the inside temperature of your home is extremely high so you want to draw cool air in from outside to cool your room. For this, this window fan is extremely effective and if it is cool enough outside, 75F, it makes a world of a difference. 3 fan speeds, I usually keep it in the middle.

We have two of these Holmes window fans, and they are worth every penny.  They are fairly lightweight, and fit perfectly in the window, unlike traditional box fans.  The adjustabe sides are a little flimsy, but so are adjustable sides on air conditioner units, so just be careful and you won't end up cracking them.  We purchased one of these when our central air was out and we couldn't get the AC repaired for a week.  I was surprised at how efficiently the fan worked, both at in bringing air in or removing hot air.  With the two way switch, you don't even have to take the fan out and turn it around.  It used a fraction of the electricity that an air conditioner does.  When the fans went on sale at the end of the season, I grabbed another one.  These also work great in those upstairs rooms that accumulate heat even on a fairly nice day, and save turning on air for the whole house when you don't need it.

The Holmes Twin Window Fan has both an intake and exhaust feature for each of the two fans so that you can set one for intake and the other for exhaust if you want or set both to exhaust or intake. You can also set the temperature that you would like to keep your room and the fan will cycle on and off to keep that temperature or you can just set it to be on at three different fan speeds. This fan is great - I love it.  Just wish they were cheaper so that I could afford to buy more of them.

This twin window fan made from Holmes is one of the best fans I've ever owned. You can place it on any window, given that it can fit, and it'll be able to blast air from, or into the room. Since it's twin fan, you have control for both fans, making one go exhaust, and the other go intake to create a circular motion. The fan is very powerful and draws a lot of air in, making any room cool down dramatically fast. The plastic isn't like one of the cheap plastic, and it feels like a solid product. I've had this product for several years, and it continues to go strong. There was one minor repair done to the button, but after that, it is still fully functional. Highly recommended for anyone, this is a product that is truly valuable.
