Love this phone!

I was ready for a phone upgrade, and I knew that I did not want an iPhone (for multiple reasons).  The HTC Aria seemed to have everything that I wanted in a phone, plus the things that the iPhone lacked that were important to me (removeable battery, SIM card, etc.)  The Android "Market" (the application store) seems to have just as many apps available as Apple does for the iPhone, and the Google interface makes accessing my Google email, contacts, and calendar very easy.  The phone is fairly simple to learn how to use, although it does not come with a user manual (they have one online though).  The phone is also very fast.  It has not frozen or gotten "stuck" at all, which was a concern of mine when I upgraded to a touch screen phone.  The size is also perfect (a little smaller than an iPhone) and the screen quality is great.  My only complaint is the battery life, but it easily lasts a day with moderate application and calling use.  I charge it every night and have no problem making the battery last the rest of the day.  Overall, a great phone; couldn't be happier! Durability Screen protector and case are a MUST!

better than the blackberry

I started out my smart phone experience with a blackberry torch.  After lots of frustration trying to get that phone up and running, I went back to the cell phone store and got the HTC aria phone.  I love the size of this phone.  So many of the smart phones are too bulky for my taste.  This phone is small enough to pocket it, but the screen still feels large enough to see what I'm doing.  I do wish it had a keyboard, not just the touchscreen, but that's probably the only thing I liked better about the Blackberry.  I haven't been using the phone long, but it's been very intuitive and easy to get started on.  This is my first smart phone and I've been able to set up email, texting, contacts, calendar syncing and wifi connection without any problems.  I've been happy with this purchase, especially after having such a frustrating experience with the torch.  I'd definitely recommend this phone.

HTC ARIA

The HTC Aria is my current phone and I was a previous Iphone user. My honest opinion is that I miss my iphone 3g. I found the texting on the iphone superior. i found the apple market superior. I found the OS far more superior and user friendly. Also since I own an apple laptop, I find it more compatible. Plus the available accessory that is available for iphone is more diverse than the HTC. What I don't like about the aria is that it sometimes crashes on me and also the market place doesn't have a lot applications available for me. Another thing I do not like about the Aria is that the texting is not as accurate as the Iphone. The one thing I do like about the Aria is the size. it is smaller than the iphone. Also you can take the back off and there's a cool yellow battery.

Talk about an excellent phone. All the bells and whistles of any other android phone and still able to fit it in a normal shirt pocket! This phone has a quick processor, long battery life and is very rugged. I've dropped so many times I can't count nay more and it still works like the day I got it. I'm very impressed with the HTC line and highly recommend it!

HTC Aria Cell Phone is alright.

I have had the HTC Aria cell phone for just over 6 months. I am not overly pleased with it, but it's not awful either. It does many things, the touch screen is awesome, and it has a lot of space. I do wish the camera had a flash and an easier way to snap photos. Downloading apps is easy, and usually quick. The phone does automatic updates regularly and stays charged for a long time. I don't like texting with a touch screen, and this phone's auto predict is terrible. It saves your used words but does not autopopulate them, and often times it will save words I accidently misspelled and try to use them again later. I got the phone free through Wirefly, so I am not complaining about the price, but if I had to purchase a new phone, this probably wouldn't be it. The phone is lightweight and slim, but slippery. Thank goodness they make covers and screen protectors for it, or mine would be in rough shape.

good phone

Love the phone. It works really well and has lots of games and apps to choose from. I did notice however that it runs Android 2.1 and they came out with Android 2.2 and 2.3 which means that the phone needs to be updated. I have yet tried to figure out how to do that yet. The phone is simple to use very user friendly, not bulky as some phones and fits in to most cell phone pockets or your back pocket. My son knows how to play his games and even wants to play the games that we play. They have tons of apps and it is simple to start up and you have the option to use WIFI which you can use most anywhere they offer it, you don't need internet service if you connect to WIFI. It has the speak to text option which is really great and easy to use, Maps, Facebook and you have Kindle on your phone. I love that the Clock you can personalize it to your taste as well as the weather and the screens. They have different Themes that you can choose from or you can make your own.

HTC Aria easy to use

4

Just got the HTC Aria to replace my old Samsung phone.  This is my first time venturing into the world of smart phones, and I have become spoiled quickly.  I love the weather widget animations when you first get to the homescreen.  The phone itself is very quick - loads internet faster than my friend's iPhone.  And the Android Marketplace brings a huge assortment of apps to the table.  I have used an iTouch for years, and now prefer the faster apps on the Android system for daily use.  The only drawback I have come across with this phone is its poor battery life.  I had to buy a car charger, otherwise my phone would be dead by the middle of my commute home after work.  Not sure why the battery runs out so quickly, especially after installing an app kiler (which has extended the battery life slightly).  Wish Android would make a system where the idle processes didn't use so much memory.  Other than that, it is the perfect size to fit in my pocket, and works great as a smartphone - I have never had a problem with the touchscreen.

HTC Aria- Small Smart Phone

4

I have owned the HTC Aria for eight weeks now.  Here's my list of pros and cons. Pros- * small size- it fits in the pocket of most of my jeans without being annoying; also very light weight * smart predictive text when emailing-  even if you hit a wrong letter it will correct it and/or give you possible words * nice user interface/ home page * great display and good to great video quality (depending on the video source) * survived several short falls- the most that has happened was the back cover came off Cons- * small size (yes, this a pro and a con)- sometimes you just wish the screen/keyboard were larger * freezes up even when not using third party applications- typically if you hold the power button, but don't turn it off it will correct itself. * Camera doesn't have a flash so indoor pictures with low lighting don't turn out good * Accidently hangs up on people if you aren't using bluetooth or speaker phone (You have to hold the phone away from your chhek) The battery life is okay; it just depends on how much you are doing on it.  If I'm not constantly doing something on it; it will last all day.  If I'm on it non stop; it will last around four hours.  Overall, I'm happy with this phone.

HTC Aria is a good for the beginning smartphone user.

I just switched from the iPhone 3G to the HTC Aria. All in all, this is a decent Android phone. I wanted to test the difference in user interface between iOS and Android and I can see that Android has definitely created a threat for Apple. The apps are plentiful with any useful app you'd need already on the Android Marketplace(and adding). As far as games, there are some decent games for android but no where as abundant as on the iPhone. So if you're not too much of a gamer(or do not care too much about apps except for those that are truly useful) Android OS will suit you fine. As far as the device itself, I found the user interface to be quite attractive with menus that were very easy to navigate. Checking mail and texts as well as making phone calls were a breeze and can be done very quickly. My only gripe about the phone is the speed. The Aria is not known to be a particularly strong device(processor of 600mHz) and some apps run a bit choppy. All in all, it is a great starting device for the new smartphone user as you will pick it up very quickly and will do basically anything you'd need in a device.
