No more batteries!

3

This swing claims to have six speeds, but I don't really notice a difference between them. My daughter likes the hanging toys, and it is nice that the music does play in two volumes. My daughter is in this swing daily and it shows no sign of slowing down or wearing out. We save so much money by not needing batteries! It is not showy, but it works great. I also put it together myself when I was very pregnant, so assembly was easy.

The Fisher Price Power Plus Swing is a lifesaver.

When I was registering for my baby shower I was overwhelmed by all the products out there. My mother had told me I loved the swing when I was a baby so I knew I had to get one for my daughter. When you walk into a store though there are so many to choose from. I read over a lot of product descriptions but eventually decided on the  Fisher Price Power Plus Swing. One of the best features of the Power Plus Swing is that you can put it almost anywhere because it's battery operated.  Not only does it run on batteries but you can also plug it in. So basically if you're not around an outlet and also want to save money on electricity you can use batteries. At the same time if you don't want to waste money on buying batteries you can always plug it in. It's like having the best of both worlds. I love being able to have options. The Fisher Price swing plays 10 calming songs and also has six different speeds. So I usually crank the swing up when my daughter first gets in and then if she starts falling asleep I will slow it down. The best part about the music is it's very soothing and also comes with six different volume settings. So if you want to watch Tv, the child can still hear their music while you enjoy your show. The swing also has a mobile on top to keep the child occupied. The swing has an adjustable strap and can hold up to 30 pounds. As an added precaution it also has a tray that sits in front of the child. That's great for snack time. Plus the tray comes off which makes it much easier come cleaning time. Although style is not the most important feature, you also don't want to have an eye sore in the middle of your living room. There are different styles to choose from. I chose a pink butterfly pattern for my daughter but they also offer a unisex design. The best part about the seat cushion is it's machine washable because we all know how messy kids can be.

Good Fisher Price Power Plus Swing, could use a couple changes

3

I received this power plus swing from my mother for my upcoming baby at the time. The swing does well, it can be operated via batteries, or plugged into the wall. There are two pockets on each side of the swing, attached to the leg that come in handy to keep wipes, pacifiers, etc. The seat adjusts in the back so newer babies can lay down, or bigger babies can sit up. There is a detachable tray so a larger baby can have snacks put there, or a sippy cup. At the top is a mobile that you can either put all the way back out of the way, or have over the baby, I don't think the mobile is far enough up front for the baby to see it properly. My daughter trys to lift her head and look back because of how it is situated. There are mutlple speed settings, along with a setting for music. The fabric appears to be keeping up, and the settings operate well in different modes. So far, we have had it for 4 months and not had any problems with the swing. I would recommend this to other people.

We love the Fisher Price Power Plus Swing

We love our Fisher Price Power Plus Swing. It is one of the greatest baby assets. I love that you can plug it in. I really can't believe how many baby swings don't plug in. I mean, where are you going to use it? Outside? Silliness. This swing can be plugged in or you can use batteries. It has different speeds, though I haven't really noticed much of a change between them. It also has the option of playing music. I think that it sounds a bit like the music from Zelda, and I really don't love it. It was my two year old that kept turning on the music for the babies (much to our annoyance) that we discovered that it really does calm the babies down. Usually the swinging does the job beautifully, and the babies will calm right down, but once in a while, they are still upset, and we have come to really appreciate the music option. It is a little bulky for storage, and the mobile is more or less pointless, but otherwise this swing is fantastic. We really love it and have found it superior to others that we have seen. I would highly recommend it.

the best swing by far

I love love love this swing! It hald up great for two kids, is gender neutral, and loved the fact that you can plug it in OR use batteries. Although to be honest with you I never used the battery option. I feel like we saved a lot of money and hassle by having a swing that had both options. I couldn't even imagine running out of batteries and having a kid that wouldn't sleep unless she was in the swing. Both my kids took their naps in this swing. The overhead animals are cute, and the music is soothing. It has two loudness settings, we used the louder one if the baby was fussy, and the softer one for when she slept. It also plays classical music in it's rotation, so adults do not mind hearing it. We never used the feeding tray, mainly just used it as a place for the babies to nap while I worked. This helped the baby see where I was and feel comfortable instead of locked away in her room, and I felt better being able to glance over at the sleeping baby. Whenever any of my new parent friends came over and saw the swing - they were so jealous. I was also able to sell it for almost the price it cost when I bought it on craigslist. Talk about a great investment!

Swing gets the job done

3

I got this swing for the fact that it plugs in. In case my baby was a "swing lover", I didn't want the batteries running out in the middle of night and having a frantic rush to the store to get more. However, this still can be battery operated if needs be. I liked that the swing was fairly simple without a whole bunch of stuff and buttons. The music can be at two different volumes (it is a medley of like 6 nursery rhymes...kind of annoying, but you can turn it off altogether). The three biggest cons to this swing.... 1. It doesn't recline very far back for a smaller baby. I ended up putting rolled up receiving blankets all around when he was little to keep his head up. 2. It's big. Where on earth do you put it when they stop using it at 4 months? 3. The mobile is too, too high up and the baby can't even see the toys. We never used this feature because of it. My son wasn't a huge swinger, so this is one of the purchases I kind of regret. I wish I would have gotten a smaller one even if it couldn't plug in. I would just have tons of extra batteries.

We registered for this swing when were were pregnant with our daughter.  We were advised by friends to avoid buying a swing that we would have to replace batteries in.  The first disappointment with this swing is that it was only available in store and online in blue.  We went ahead and purchased it because it was the only plug in swing we could find.  The swing wasn't too difficult to assemble, thanks to my husband!  The swing was a lifesaver when I needed something to distract my daughter or somewhere to put her so she wouldn't be upset when I layed her down.  It actually was a lifesaver for awhile during nap times as it was the only place she would sleep!  Unfortunately after a few uses the swing started to make a clicking sound no matter what speed it was on.  I called Fisher Price and the only way for them to do anything was to wait for them to send an envelope, then I had to disassemble the seat and send it to them.  For a product that was only a couple of months old, I was not impressed.  I needed this for my daughter and didn't have time to give it up! Overall we've been pretty happy with this.  Just don't expect it to be smooth and quiet!

For anyone who has ever had to use a crank swing (i.e. when the baby is finally relaxing you crank it and make them cry because it scared them!) or had to pay for ALL the batteries for a regular battery operated swing, this swing will be amazing for you! I havent' found another swing that you could plug in and I was PSYCHED when I found this one. The swing is great- it's so comfortable for my little one. The ability to lay it back for the little sizes is so wonderful. Plus, it has a little tray in front  that I can put any sort of little toy or paci in. The cover is very easy to take off for washing (which we've definitely already had to do) and washes well! There aren't any stains that are hard to get out. It's rather neutral so it doesn't clash horribly with my house- I love the plaid pattern! I guess a 'con' would be that my baby can't really see the mobile toys very well because they're rather high above eye level. But really, there is nothing that I would say is a reason not to buy this swing!

Two of my kids loved it, one didn't.

This is a decent swing, but it has some limitations.  For the positive: I like that this swing will plug into the wall.  We had another swing with our first baby and it ran only on batteries and we almost went bankrupt supplying batteries for the darn thing.  That's what led us to purchase the Fisher Price Power Plus Swing.  Ours comes in a different color from the one shown too, so there are a variety of styles to choose from.  The swing is plenty big and I like that the seat tray will remove to easily put your baby into the swing. That being said, the swing doesn't move as much as I'd like it to.  Even when it is plugged in the swing seems a little... weak.  Also the music sounds really cheap.  With technology in music playing devices these days it seems like they ought to be able to put in a more robust music player rather than a single tone electronic deal.  It's probably fine for the baby, but you'll want to pull your hair out after the third repeat of the soundtrack. Overall a good swing, but I think I would look around before buying this one again.

Size and space concerns.

The Fisher-Price Power Plus Swing was recommended to my family by someone who had this already.  They said that it was a great swing to purchase because it would run with either batteries or you could plug it into the wall.  After looking around on-line, I had to agree that those were some very unique features that not all baby swings could offer so I went ahead and ordered one for my family. This swing has gone through two children now and I was not impressed with the swing for either one.  It worked as it should however my expectations were maybe too great.  As the children got bigger, the swing could not or did not swing as much as the full range of motion would suggest.  It is not that my kids were obese or were too old for the swing according to the manuel, it just did not have the power to continue to move!  The music was really the highlight of the swing.  We could adjust the volume and it was really helpful at getting the little ones to fall asleep.  I used this for the first few months and then it was just too slow to keep up with my children. If you have the money to spare on this swing, go for it.  It is nice.  I would not buy it again for my family.
