This is the absolute best vacuum I have ever used. It picks up all the fine pet fur off carpets, wood floors, furniture, etc. — — The attachments are amazing as well. — The Bottom Line:  Remember, there is nothing more to buy once you purchase the DC14 Animal. No bags, filter, nothing. When I purchased this vacuum we had a long haired black dog that shed everywhere.  My Hoover just wasn't cutting it, so the woman at the Sears store suggested the Dyson.  After doing some research, I decided to purchase the animal one (purple).  I was totally amazed at how much it picked up, even on areas that I had just swept with my Hoover.  It really gets down into the carpets and gets out the hidden dirt. — Our dog is no longer with us, but my Dyson is still working great.  We have been doing a lot of remodeling in our old house and some work in our new one… read full review »

My In-laws bought this for me as a gift and I love it! This vacuum does the job! My son suffers from allergies to dust among other things. This means that I have to vacuum frequently. The suction is amazing and the amount of "stuff" that you empty once you are done is absolutley surprising. I use all of the attchments and I even use it to vacuum out my minivan about once a week! I have only had one time where the vacuum was clogged and I called Dyson right away. I have had my Dyson for 3 years now and just loved the way it picks up dirt and animal hair. Until I used it to vacuum up drywall dust during a room remodel. Took me forever to remove the dust from every nook and cranny of the filter. Used an air compressor and blew out as much as I could. Now it seems to have lost it's SUCK. I think I am going to have to take it to a repair shop to see if it can be taken apart further than I know how to clean it out so it gets it's SUCK… read full review »

I bought my dyson animal in March of 2007. It was a floor model at best buy. I had always wanted one, but never really wanted to spend the money. I was actually at best buy looking for a refirgerator and saw two dysons with floor model tags on them. They were not discounted but I did get a $200 best buy gift card for buying that particular one. That gift card helped me to buy the fridge I wanted forabout   $200 that same day. I have a husband who tracks in a lot of dirt, two kids, two cats, and a dog! And we live in west Texas, where dust storms are not uncommon. — I vacuum once a week, at least. And I empty the canister at least twice. I don't mind, because I can really see what I'm picking up! With my old Hoover, I probably changed the bag every couple of months!
