You cannot go wrong with a Didy!

By

from Riverside, AL

Comments about Didymos Baby Sling:

I tried a stretchy wrap when my son was a newborn, and I never could quite figure it out. To spite my difficulties with it, I bought a Didy a few months later, and I am so glad I did. After reading many reviews online, it seemed the general consensus was that you cannot go wrong with a Didymos. I have found that to be true, in my experience. I bought a natural hemp indio, and immediately fell in love. With a good woven wrap, and like another reviewer said, Didy is the gold standard, you do not get pressure points. Your childs weight is distributed evenly across your shoulders, back and hips, and you have a much wider range of movement that you do in lesser quality wraps. The fabric is grippy and strong, so you feel secure with your baby high on your back while you bend and stretch doing household chores or shopping at the store. There is a little bit of initial sticker shock when you realize how much these wraps cost new, but if you pick out one that you like the look and feel of, it will last you through as many children and grandchildren as you want it to and then can still be passed on or resold. Didymos wraps get better with age - the more you wash them, iron them, knot them and use them they softer and easiest to put on they become.

The best baby carrier, hands down!

By

from West Palm Beach, FL

Comments about Didymos Baby Sling:

I have been babywearing since my son was born, but only discovered wrapping after he turned one. I tried several different brands of woven wraps and keep coming back to Didymos.  I'm a huge fan.  The are so pretty.  The quality is supurb and they hold their value if you ever decide to sell it on a FSOT (for sale or trade) board.

There is a wide variety of weaves, patterns, and colors to choose from within the Didymos line.  They have a standard line that is full of wonderful carrier that are always in stock.  They also have limited edition ones that come out every couple weeks and typically are highly sought after.

Once I tried a woven wrap, all of my other carriers started to collect dust.  Wovens are the most comfortable and versitile carrier out there. It does take a bit of effort to learn how to properly use one and the price point is higher than most other carriers. But if you plan on wearing your child into the toddler years a wrap is the way to go!  And Didymos beats them all.

Wraps are like getting another pair of arms!

By

from Cullman, AL

Comments about Didymos Baby Sling:

Baby wraps are like giving a mother another set of arms and hands to work with. These things are so comfortable and so uniquely versitle that it's are to tell a parent not to get one even though the cost can be somewhat prohibitive.

If you need help picking or instructions visit www.youtube.com/babywearingchannel www.whos-green.info and www.thebabywearer.com so you can safely and effectively wear this wonderful wrap.

Didymos is one of the oldest wrap brands that is still around and they make a variety of wraps in different colors, textures , fibers, and weaves. So if one doesn't quite work for you another just might.. and an addiction might just begin. I own about 10-12 different wraps and still collecting more and more with every child I have.

The key thing of learning a wrap is that it's just like tying your shoe laces at first it's tricky, then it gets easier and easier and easier to where you don't even think about it when you are doing it.

Most supportive and versatile sling infant through toddler years

By

from South Park, PA

Comments about Didymos Baby Sling:

Anytime a mother is looking for a sling to carry her baby in, I ultimately recommend a woven wrap.  Didymos is the gold standard for wovens.  They are consistently coming out with stylish, versatile, quality products.  I have tried every type of carrier on the market, often several brands in each style and after three children, this is the carrier that I will continue to use for my current and future children.  My favorite thing about this wrap is its overwhelming versatility and comfort.  You can choose how you would like to tie the wrap based on your needs and the needs of your baby, especially with concern to age and weight.  As a toddler, my son is 27 lbs and is carried on my back in my Indio Cashmere blend Didymos and allows me to comfortably carry him while having my hands and the front of my body free to care for my two other children, clean house or preform other tasks.  I have a medical condition in my back that often causes me pain and concern.  WHere other carriers have failed me after my child has grown past the age of about 6 months, this one has succeeded.  I comfortably carry my 27 lb toddler on my back with this sling for hours at a time.  I have also, on ocassion, wrapped my three year old 35lb toddler as well for shorter periods of time quite comfortably.  Didymos provides several different types of slings that are thicker and thinner weaves and blended with various fibers.  I would above all to pick a design that appeals to you asthetically, as you want to have a sling that you will look forward to wearing and feel confident in.  All of didymos woven wraps are quality supportive products.  The differences between the different types are largely a matter of preference.  I would suggest prospective buyers research the different types of slings and their characteristics before purchasing.  Websites such as "thebabywearer" contains a wealth of information from people that have experienced and used each type of sling and can speak to its individual qualities.

Each didymos comes with an instructional booklet and CD that demonstrates how to use the sling.  May I suggest picking one carry that will most benefit you when you first recieve your sling and practice and use that carry until you are quite comfortable with it and then move on to learning other carries.  It can be overwhelming to try to use and learn how to tie many carries with your first woven wrap as the very best quality of this sling - the versatility in the many ways it can be used ALSO makes for the one, if only drawback - there is a bit of learning curve, some carries being easier to learn than others.  In my experience, this drawback is easily overcome with a little persistance and the instructional materials didymos provides are more than adequate to help one use their sling successfully.  THere are also several great videos available from various online retails and also on "youtube" that will demonstrate carries that are included in the literature that comes with the sling and also additional carries - a list that is quite extensive!

This is one of the only slings on the market that will successfullyl support the small weight of a newborn's undeveloped muscles as well as restrain a wiggling, heavier toddler and be equally successful at both.  If you are looking for a quality purchase that will be of long-term benefit to both mother and child - this is the one!  Happy Baby wearing!
