This is a No Flash digital scouting camera it uses infrared technology instead of the traditional flash that most trail cams will have.  The infrared flash will flash out to 60 ft for still pictures and out to 40 ft for taking a video.  It has a great trigger speed that will take a picture faster when a object is within the detection zone.  The detection zone is a bit narrower than other cams, but a larger detection zone is not needed with the fast trigger speed.  The video feature is great because you can set the camera up to first take a still photo and than follow it up with a video clip.  This scouting camera has a internal memory, but will take up to a 1 gb compact flash card to save all the picture and videos too.  This means that you will not have to go out to the scouting camera everyday to check it.  I would suggest purchasing two compact flash cards that way when you go out to your trail camera you can just swap out compact flash cards and you will not have to make a second trip back to camera and put flash card back into trail cam. Love this trail cam.
