The only Conair product I'm disappointed in

By

Comments about Conair Shiny Styles 4-in-1 Plate System:

I'm not even sure if this is still manufactured, it shouldn't be, it's a horrible product. I received this hair styling tool when I was in middle school as a gift and actually used it nearly every day for a few years. My hair is naturally curly but it takes so much effort for my curls to look somewhat normal so I straighten my hair instead.

The product has 4 different kinds of plates you can slide into place for different effects. The straightener was exactly wrong for me. This iron damaged my hair so bad, which is hard to believe because it barely got hot and took FOREVER to heat. I plugged it in when I woke up and it would be ready to use after I showered and dried my hair, 30 minutes later. When I would pull this down a strand of hair I could feel the metal plates pulling on certain hairs, and it would cause my hair to snap off quite commonly. Needless to say, this caused horrible split ends.

There was also a "smoothing plate" which is supposed to give your hair a "healthy shine?" It was actually a second pair of straightening plates with velour over it. Didn't do anything but cause static.

The two crimping features did work but only because you don't pull it along your hair. If anyone happens upon this product, don't use it. It will ruin your hair. Buy a ceramic iron, this is a waste of money.

Conair Styles is a Winner

Comments about Conair Shiny Styles 4-in-1 Plate System:

The Conair Shiny Styles 4 in 1 Plate System is a great hair tool! I use it every day to straighten my hair and have been very pleased with its performance. I think the system heats up fairly quickly and stays hot enough to style my hair. It also cools quickly which is good for storage purposes. The flat iron function on the Conair system is wide enough to cover a good bit of hair at once so you don't spend a lot of time styling your hair. Additionally, the other plates for waves, crimps, etc., are easily interchangable and work very well. The system is small and compact enough that it travels well and fits easily into travel bags. Additionally, it's a great purple color! Conair is a trusted name in hair appliances, so you can trust that the Shiny Styles 4 in 1 Plate System, too, will be a reliable hair tool.

The worst x-mas present ever!

Comments about Conair Shiny Styles 4-in-1 Plate System:

I was 10 when i got this strightener, and even then I realized how junky it was. It doesn't do ANYTHING to the hair except damage it. The crimper frizzes and frustrates. Don't even bother! This was the first straightener I got. I liked it because of all the different plates. But, it took me FOUR HOURS to get my hair to even resemble straight. The thing is, this straightener takes forever and will frizz your hair to no end. On the bright side, the other plates work. The biggest wave plate will actually wave your hair. The little crimp plate does crimp. The star plate will put a star in your hair but it is not all that noticeable. The plates all work, but they take a long time to do so. Don't buy this for the straightener part, but maybe of you want to crimp your hair now and then its okay. This iron is not worth your money. It is unhealthy for your hair, and you wont even be satisfied with the outcome. It makes your hair get split ends it will look dry and gross. If you want your hair nicely straightened i think it is best to get a better quality straightener even if it does cost more, becuase it is better for the long run.
