The only Conair product I'm disappointed in
I'm not even sure if this is still manufactured, it shouldn't be, it's a horrible product. I received this hair styling tool when I was in middle school as a gift and actually used it nearly every day for a few years. My hair is naturally curly but it takes so much effort for my curls to look somewhat normal so I straighten my hair instead. The product has 4 different kinds of plates you can slide into place for different effects. The straightener was exactly wrong for me. This iron damaged my hair so bad, which is hard to believe because it barely got hot and took FOREVER to heat. I plugged it in when I woke up and it would be ready to use after I showered and dried my hair, 30 minutes later. When I would pull this down a strand of hair I could feel the metal plates pulling on certain hairs, and it would cause my hair to snap off quite commonly. Needless to say, this caused horrible split ends. There was also a "smoothing plate" which is supposed to give your hair a "healthy shine?" It was actually a second pair of straightening plates with velour over it. Didn't do anything but cause static. The two crimping features did work but only because you don't pull it along your hair. If anyone happens upon this product, don't use it. It will ruin your hair. Buy a ceramic iron, this is a waste of money.
