I have to admit I feel sentimental about Comet Cleansers in general and although the Comet Scratch Free Lemon Fresh with Bleach Disinfectant is different than those earlier products from my childhood, I still can't help but nostalgic when I use them. But, times have changed and so have the products. In this case of this product, the addition of a disinfectant characteristic makes this a much improved product. I find this to be a very effective cleaner, particularly on tough stains. It is my go to cleaner when I have tried "softer" cleaners and they have failed. This is particularly true for stains that have set in my kitchen sink, such as red wine vinegar that spilled off of salad plates. Another plus, is that it is very competitively priced relative to other cleaners in its class. On the downside, I do not particularly like the lemon scent. I find it somewhat overpowering and even with a relatively short exposure, I can sometimes get a headache from the scent.

I loved using regular comet until trying the no scratch formula! When we built our house, I found an old cast iron white enameled sink, you know, the old style with the super deep double bowls, and fell in love with it. After using it for a while, it began to look dingy and scratched. I sprinkled a little bit of the comet cleaner on it and got it damp, kind of making a past that covered the bottom of the sink, and let it set while I went and did other stuff. When I returned and washed the sink with a sponge, I was amazed at the results, the sink looked like new! It was white and I think it even sparkled! That became a once a week routine and it kept that sink looking wonderful until the day we moved. Performance I loved the results this product provided, and recommended it several times to others. Scent The scent is ok, it does have bleach, so it has a bit of that bleach scent to it, but I didn't find it overwhelming or overpowering.

The old Comet was a staple in my household while I was growing up. My mother swore by it. I used it on everything growing up and became a firm believer in its stain removal power. Our biggest use then was scrubbing stains off our stovetop...you know, the yuck that boiled over and burned on your burner. However, the old formula could be a bit abrasive, and I moved away from it as the new stove tops became more sensitive to cleaners. I did keep it around for clean stains off countertops, however, and other surfaces that could take the abrasion. When I saw a scratch-free version of Comet, I was really excited to try it out. It sill has great stain removal, but no longer takes the finish off things. I have also found it to work wonders on linoleum floors. It really helps get the grit out of the floors once they get a bit pitted. Scent Nothing special about the scent for this one. Not particularly great or bad. Just clean.

I really think that the Comet Scratch Free Lemon Fresh with Bleach Disinfectant Cleanser is almost the same as the classic comet. It does not leave any scratches on our sinks, bathtub, or our countertops. Was able to remove old coffee stains from our counter within a couple of minutes.

My Mother swore by Comet brand cleanser. It did work, but while it took the grime away it often took the finish, too. Nonetheless, when I married, I bought a can of Comet to clean the bathtub and toilet bowl. I soon quit using the product however, because of the packaging. The metal bottom would leave a rust ring at times and if the container accidentally got too wet it would ruin the product inside. When I saw that Comet had changed the packaging I took notice and immediately bought a can. The plastic container protects the product from moisture and doesn't leave a ring, but it wasn't until Comet came out with the scratch free formula did I become a regular user. Comet has improved and made a good product even better. This scratch free product is a keeper! Performance Comet is safe to use. It doesn't contain phosphates and the surfactants are biodegradable. It cleans and removes stains while disinfecting. Comet gets rid of most household germs including Staph, Salmonella and Pseudomonas. The flip top lid allows the product to be shaken out or spooned out in larger quantity. For stubborn stains, sprinkle Comet on wet surface or sponge, let sit for 15 seconds, rub and rinse. If problem remains, wet surface, sprinkle on Comet, let stand for one minute, rub and rinse.

I always used the regular Comet cleanser in the green container until I got a new stainless steel sink and was advised not to scour with a harsh abrasive cleanser.  How to keep clean with a minimum of work?  Enter Comet Scratch Free Lemon Fresh with Bleach Disinfectant Cleanser.  I really like the yellow plastic container as I have a better grip on the Comet container and it will not slip out of my wet hands when I am using it--an improvement on the cardboard containers.  I now use the Comet Scratch Free cleanser on my sinks and the rest of my stainless steel appliances.  Cleans without scratching and leaves the stainless steel looking shiny,bright, and polished.  Comet also cleans tough burned on foods on pots and pans and my burner drip pans.  The lemon scent leaves everything smelling clean and fresh while it disinfects and removes tough stains.  I use the Comet Lemon Fresh in my kitchen and  bathrooms.  My husband has used The Comet Lemon Fresh on some of his garden tools before storing them over winter.
