I am a supporter of breast feeding. But I am aware that not every woman can successfully accomplish this. I had troubles breastfeeding and I had to find a formula that was going to nourish my baby but not make them sick. After trying so many on the market I finally came accross Carnation Good Start.... review »

We bought this formula for our son because of the "comfort proteins" that were supposedly easier to digest. When we ran out of the Enfamil that the hospital sent us home with we opened our can of Good Start. Right off the bat it was difficult because he didn't like the taste, then it gave him horrible... review »

Nestle Good Start Supreme is the only formula I used for my breastfed babies when I was out of the house.  I am a stay at home mom of 3, and rarely left them alone, so I never bothered pumping. NGS was the ONLY formula my pediatrician recommended for my little ones!

I found that my babies had a lot less gas, spit up, and generally fewer fussy periods when they used Nestle Good Start Supreme formula.  The Comfort Proteins definitely made a difference for my little ones! I also like that the Good Start powder mixes up well in water, while some other brands leave lots of clumps!

Definitely worth the money for this formula, it does not smell like Enfamil or even like Similac, I will say that my experience with Enfamil is that it is the worst smelling formula I have had contact with.  The Nestle Good Start, use to be Carnation Good Start is just great, my older child had terrible colic and was on very expensive formula, transitioning her to Nestle Good start was easy and she did well after we switched over.  When I had my second child I did not hesitate to get the good start and she had no colic at all!!

Feeding a young baby requires constant attention and care. Fortunately, there are many good formulas available on the market to make the process as simple as possible. One such formula is Nestle Good Start Supreme Infant Formula with Iron, a powdered baby formula with added DHA and ARA- two key ingredients that are naturally present in human breast milk.

Facts About This Product?:

This formula is comprised of white- colored powdered and is packaged in an easy to open can. The powder is available in two standard sizes: 12 oz. (340 grams) and 25.7 oz. (728 grams). There is also a pre- mixed variety...

Nestle/Carnations Good Start Supreme DHA & ARA is an excellent formula for babies with a sensitive stomach.

With my first child, he couldn't seem to handle the formula.  He was constantly both gassy and constipated.  We went through 5 formulas before trying Good Start Supreme.  Those included soy/lactose free, low iron, and others.  Nothing seemed to help the little guy.

FINALLY, we tried the Good Start Supreme.  It was a miracle worker.  He still had the occasional gas bubbles, but it was nothing like the torture it seemed he was feeling at first.

I would highly recommend this product...

I used Similac Advance with my first and she had horrible gas problems and she also spit up A LOT.  She was miserable...not colicky but pretty darn close.  I decided to try Good Start with my second and she has had no spit up, no gas pains...she is a very happy baby.  The only thing I don't like is the baby's gas and poop is verrrry stinky.  The color is one I hadn't seen before with my first either.  I heard it has something to do with the comfort proteins partially digesting before they get to baby's tummy.

We tried Enfamil, and Soy formula with out baby, but he was very gassey and he spit up a lot. And those formulas cost an arm and a leg. We switched he to this formula and he has done wonderfully. He is not gassy and he doesn't spit up! It is very gentle on his stomach and digestive system, plus he is getting all of the nutrition that he needs for his growth and development. This formula is a lot cheaper then a lot of the other formulas out there and sometimes you can get it on clearance at Target in a "Big Can"

My 1st child was a preemie.  He was VERY COLIC!!!  Nothing could calm him down and he always wanted to eat but always fussed.  The Doctor's had us try Nutramagin, okay,  but expensive.  I found the carnation good start and decided to try it.  WOW!!!  I had a completely different baby.  He ate when he was supposed to, the colic stopped, and he seemed happy, and it was affordable.  Of course I had to use it for my second child.  I recommend this formula to everyone.

I breastfed my son for a couple of months before returning to work full time. I had tried many of the most popular (and most expensive!) brands of formula, but they all gave him terrible gas and colic. My pediatrician recomended I try Good Start Supreme and gave me a small sample canister. My son was doing much better by the first night! A week later he had no more tummy trouble and we were all sleeping much better at night. I would definitely recomend this product to others.

This formula was horrible. Every single bottle we made with this stuff clumped up. I've never seen any other brand clump like this does. I actually had to use a smoothie machine and make a day's worth of formula to get it un-clumpy. That was the only way we could give it to our son without the clumps clogging the hole in the nipple. It also foamed up really bad. It also stinks. I know this stuff is supposed to be great and everything but I was really disappointed. As if the clumps weren't bad enough the so called comfort proteins weren't so comforty. My son was constipated each and every day.... review »

My daughter was on a special formula for about 4 months after have stomach surgery...and when we finally transitioned her over to "regular" formula, this was the best one (after trying several).  She had more results in her development because of the DHA and ARA included in the formula.  She had really awful Reflux, and this just worked so well!!!  She had less reflux "episodes" with this formula compared to others.

As far as the cost, it is a little less than some of the formulas, but a little more than others (like Parent's Choice, etc.).  But you can go onto the Nestle Good Start website...

My review of Nestle's Carnation Goodstart is excellent. I have five children. I breastfed them all. I wanted a formula that was easy on my children's stomach and didn't stain their clothes. I found Nestle's Carnation Goodstart to be the closest to breastmilk. It doesn't smell. It digest in their stomaches like breastmilk. They have easy soft bowel movements. It doesn't get hard and pasty like other formulas make it. I recommend Carnation Goodstart to every mother I know.

I love Good Start Supreme powder. I used it with both of my babies and it worked well. Mixes well and is comparable to the other name brands in the ingredients.

A first-time mom is so bombarded with coupons, samples and promotional items (even diapers bags) from the BIG drug companies, it only makes sense that they would want to at least try them out.  But when it comes to Isomil, Similac and Enfamil, don't bother.  They are foamy when mixed (and take forever to settle down) which explains my son's gassy reaction to them.  The cries broke my heart.  The smell was awful, too.  Then a friend recommended Carnation/Nestle Good Start Supreme.  I got the kind that also had DHA and ARA after reading about all the benefits to brain and eye development. ...
