Natural Baby Formula by Nestle Good Start

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

With all the different formula options available to new and experienced parents, and all try or use one specific brand, how do parents know which formula is the right one for their child.  With all this uncertainty, there is one thing parents can be certain of, there are three leaders in the formula race:  Similac, Enfamil, and Nestles Good Start.

Nestles Good Start Supreme with Natural Cultures is a milk based formula with DHA and ARA as well as comfort proteins and iron. Natural Cultures formula also includes Bifidus BL and claims to increase baby's antioxidants and nucleotides.  One distinguishing feature of Natural Cultures is the claim that it is the first formula" to c...

Gerber Good Start Protect Plus great formula

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Gerber Good Start Protect Plus is an amazing formula. We used with our 2nd child after the hospital started her on it and pediatrician recommended it and have used it ever since. Our daughter had a problem with reflux and spitting up on similac and the regular Good start (orange) but never a problem with this formula. It also seems to be the best formula on your budget as well. Gerber Good start sends more formula checks than the other brands, puts out more coupons and seems to be the cheapest brand name formula as well. We are going to use this formula with baby #3 as well, and if by some weird chance this particular form of Good start does not work we'll just try the other Gerber Good start versions until one works. If you are going to try this formula make sure you go to Gerber's website www.gerber.com and sign up for their email & snail mailings. They will send you all the coupons & formula checks. Definitely give this formula a try!!

Updated- both reviews included

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

1st review a few years ago-This formula was horrible. Every single bottle we made with this stuff clumped up. I've never seen any other brand clump like this does. I actually had to use a smoothie machine and make a day's worth of formula to get it un-clumpy. That was the only way we could give it to our son without the clumps clogging the hole in the nipple. It also foamed up really bad. It also stinks. I know this stuff is supposed to be great and everything but I was really disappointed. As if the clumps weren't bad enough the so called comfort proteins weren't so comforty. My son was constipated each and every day. He cried from his tummy pains and we felt so bad for him. The only Good S...

Was a good start for us

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I am a mama who nurses her kiddos but for some reason by body just wasn't making enough milk for my little mans needs so the Dr. gave me a sample of Nestle Goodstart Supreme Natural Cultures. I must admit we love it, It took not time at all for my baby to adapt to it. It looks for like breast milk than some of the other formulas, doesn't smell near as strong and mt little man doesn't spit up as often as I thought he would. We have only had one issue and that has only been in the past few months and I thin that starting solids might be to blame as well, but we have had a bit of difficulty with constipation. But I hear that is common in most babies who take formula so that really isn't a negative for Natural Cultures. I highly recommend this formula!!

Love all the healthy benefits

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I am a mother of two and with both of my children I breastfed.  Which caused both of my children not to be able to drink "regular" formula.  My daughter was Lactose intolerant and my son would spit up everywhere no matter how much he would drink.  After trying several formulas I was advised that everything was just to hard on his stomach.  Until I tried Good Start Protect Plus (Green&Gold Can) this formula has probotics which help the digestive system and is similar to breastmilk.  I remember the first time I tried this formula with him.  It was different due to having to use room temperature water and I didn't have to wait for the bottle to warm or "thaw out".. my husband said the thought is GROSS.. I you happen to warm this formula it will break down the probotics and will not be beneficial to your newborn.  This formula is great for mothers on the go.  Just keep a bottle of water in the diaper bag for that spur of the moment bottle.

Good for baby and me

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My baby was crying most of the time because he was always constipated, my doctor recommended I switch to Good Start Supreme Natural Cultures milk and within a couple of weeks he was on a regular basis and the crying stopped, poor little thing all this time he didn't have to suffer the pain of constipation if I had only I had known of Good Start Supreme Natural Cultures, this is a healthier way to regulate him and I don't have to give his laxatives or anemias anymore, I can find this at most chain drugstores or at Walmart and Target so it makes it very easy to use, the price is a little more than just the old regular powdered baby milk but if you count I don't have to buy laxatives or anemias...

THE ONLY ONE I WILL USE!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had 4 children now, and the only formula we have used (and liked was the Nestle Good Start DHA and ARA. We tried several different formulas with my first child. All of them caused her to be fuss with gas, puking, runny diapers, or worse, not going at all. When we finally found the Nestle Good Start DHA and ARA, she was almost 6 motnhs old, but as soon as I put her on it, her stomach settled, and she began to fuss less, sleep more, and become less puky and normal with her diapers. After her, the other three of my children have been only Nestle Good Start. I know you can tell me that store brands cost less, but when it comes to an infant eating second best, or me eating second best. Guess what I will take my chances with second best, cause my children deserve the BEST!

I do not reccomend this formula to substitute Similac

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I am a single mother of two, a 3 year old boy and 4 month old girl.  I have to go by the WIC program of PA in order to help me out since my children's fathers don't pay child suport.  They used to provide my daughter with Similac Advanced and then switched to Nestle Good Start DHA/ARA.  My daughter never had problems spitting up or with diahrrea until she started this formula.  WIC insisted that this would subside after using the new brand for a few weeks.  She has been on it for 2 months and is still havng problems, and I have to switch her back to the Similac.  WIC also told be this was a better formula, but my daugter has also lost weight at times due to...

The best formula, period!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We went through so much trying to find a formula that would work for my little guy. He was even given a diagnosis of having a milk allergy, which turned out to be false (proved false by blood tests). He was on almost every Enfamil formula there is, including Nutramigen, and none of them worked for him. Then my husband and I decided to take matters into our own hands, and tried Gerber Good Start. He started to feel better almost instantly. He still spits up a bit from his reflux, but he is a "happy spitter". He isn't constipated anymore. He still has gas, but it's not as bad as it was. He is just a gassy baby no matter what.

I highly recommend this formula, in the Protect or Gentle...

Nestle Good Start Supreme: Easy to Find, but Not the Best

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Baby Formulas are abundant with many manufacturers offering what they feel is the best formula in the bunch and the one most like actual breast milk. Many good formulas exist, and while they are very similar, there are some important differences between them. One formula that is okay but has a few shortfalls is Nestle Good Start Supreme Infant Formula with Iron, a powdered baby formula with added DHA and ARA. Baby Formula Commentary: Nestle Good Start Supreme Infant Formula with Iron is a dry formula; a white- colored powder that is packaged in an easy to open can. This formula is mixed like most others: Purified water is added to a clean bottle, formula is then added, the bottle is ...

Made my son cry non-stop

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We bought this formula for our son because of the "comfort proteins" that were supposedly easier to digest. When we ran out of the Enfamil that the hospital sent us home with we opened our can of Good Start. Right off the bat it was difficult because he didn't like the taste, then it gave him horrible gas and cramps. Our son was the quietest, most serene baby up until we gave him this formula. He was up all night crying in pain, and he's always been a great sleeper. We immediately stopped giving this to him and started looking for another formula. It was a long search, but we have since switched to the Parent's Choice Gentle formula, which is much easier on his tummy, and costs much less than the other name brands.

This is hard to dissolve!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I got two 12oz cans of Good Start protect plus powder formula as free samples from Gerber, and since they generously gave me so many valuable formula checks, I decided to store some of this formula for my baby. I did get great deals for several cans of 24 oz protect plus powder formula, and to give my newborn baby a chance to get familiar with powder formula, I started to nurse him twice every night with good start protect plus. the formula smells like fish! I don't really get it why my baby loves drinking it. although my son was totally fine with protect plus, it did give me and my husband a big headache, because we can never get the powder dissolved well shortly enough before my baby cries out due to being hungry for too long! there are always pea-like formula pieces staying at the bottom, and I have to shake the bottle fiercely to make them dissolve finally. I do hope they can solve this problem

Excellent formula for touchy tummies.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Nestle/Carnations Good Start Supreme DHA & ARA is an excellent formula for babies with a sensitive stomach.  With my first child, he couldn't seem to handle the formula.  He was constantly both gassy and constipated.  We went through 5 formulas before trying Good Start Supreme.  Those included soy/lactose free, low iron, and others.  Nothing seemed to help the little guy.  FINALLY, we tried the Good Start Supreme.  It was a miracle worker.  He still had the occasional gas bubbles, but it was nothing like the torture it seemed he was feeling at first.  I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a child that has a sensitive stomach.&nb...

The best first food for your baby next to breast milk

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I am a supporter of breast feeding. But I am aware that not every woman can successfully accomplish this. I had troubles breastfeeding and I had to find a formula that was going to nourish my baby but not make them sick. After trying so many on the market I finally came accross Carnation Good Start. They sent me a coupon in the mail for a free can of their formula and it came at a time when I had no money and the baby needed a can of formula to tide him over before my next month's WIC kicked in. Not only did I get a free can from the company but found that the formula was the best on the shelves. It looked, smelled, and practically tasted like breast milk. My baby stopped spitting up,...
