Priceless!

Comments about Canon - VIXIA High Definition Flash Media, AVC Camcorder:

We are so excited to have our Canon Vixia HF200 digital camera to document our first kid.

We love that the Canon Vixia is HD and such high quality with excellent video quality. The appearance of the camera is great too. It's design is very attractive. The size of the camera is nice because it easily fits in your purse or small bag - or any inexpensive camera carrying case. We got one that fits perfect from Ollie's.

So far we have no problems. Works perfect between our mac and PC. The camera is easy to hold, buttons are easy to use, layout is easy to figure out and the overall design just seems to be very functional and intuitive.

We like the 15x zoom feature. Comes in handy when wanting to shoot things at a distance. I'm also impressed with the image stabilization feature.

We find that as with all digital, the best results are taken in daylight and bright light settings. Although I am amazed at the fireworks video we took on the fourth of July, which turned out really well.

Canon HFS200: Pricey but worth it!

Canon HFS200: Pricey but worth it!

We bought the Canon HFS200 as a pre birth camcorder for when our daughter was born last year.

I have to say it has amazed me in every way.

Before I bought it, I had compared the Canon R series, the Canon M series and the Canon HFS series. For particularly low light indoor videos I found the lower end camcorders did not come close to the video quality of the canon HFS200.

The camcorder is bigger than its smaller siblings but is not overtly large. The zoom is nice but I would have wished for a more larger wide angle lens at normal setting. You have to keep moving back while shooting sometimes only to realize you dont have more space to go back.

It takes dual SD cards. While it is suggested to use Class 6 or higher cards, I have managed to use Class 4 cards and not have any problems recording 1080p high definition videos. Its easy to put those SD cards in your pc and transfer videos.

Canon does provide a software bundle with the camcorder but I have been directly using the videos on my Home theater PC to see them. I back them up to an external harddrive so have not tried making DVD's yet.
