I started using these strips about 10 years ago. I had a really severe cold and could not breathe while sleeping. I was really miserable. A friend recommended these strips and my first ones were clear and size large. The clear ones are much more firmer than the tan colored ones and they open my nasal passages better. It is almost like putting a Band-Aid on your nose. They are very easy to use and a lot of drug stores have their own similar brand named ones. I believe the packaging advises to not use form more than 6 months. Well, I am about 9 years and 6 months past that. I have noticed that my nose is a tad bit wider but nothing really noticeable. I have tried the tan colored strips and each time I use them, they almost tear my skin off. The adhesive is very strong and they just do not work as well. The material used to make the tan colored strips is different than the clear strips but I use them when I cannot find the clear strips. The strips also come in different sizes. The sizes are small, medium and large. The size determines how far down the sides of the nose that the strip will come down. These strips are mostly for adults, however, I have seen a yellow bordered box for Juniors, which is defined as children over 5. The sizes are adjusted for children. They are non-toxic and safe. I did have a health insurance plan that covers these strips as part of my Flex Spending Account. You might have the benefit, as well. It is a great item to keep in your medicine cabinet, use for snoring, sleeping and congestion or for a runny nose. My mother gets a sneezing fit after eating a meal. For some reason, she can put on a breathing strip and it stops it. These strips are a must-have constant in my life and I don't know what I would have done without them.
