I do like this food processor. I use it almost every day, to make hummus, fruit and nut bars, fillings, pesto, chop nuts, shred cheese, and a variety of other things. It works well, and gets the job done- eventually- but it does have a few shortcomings. For one, it is small. Bosch's slicer shredder is probably twice as big, and I'm not sure that I understand why they couldn't make this one the same size. I have a family of six, and sometimes, I have to process in batches, because there isn't enough room for as much as I need. The seal on the lid is not so hot. If I make something with a lot of liquid, I have to hold down the lid, or it will come pouring out of the top. This is extremely frustrating. If I'm making something with fruit and nuts in it (like a Larabar-type of recipe), and it all needs to be chopped up, the food processor just doesn't perform well. Once the dates are processed and get really sticky, it won't chop the nuts small enough. It just kind of makes them into large chunks. When this happens, I have to process the ingredients individually, and then put them in the mixer, which means extra steps AND extra dishes. I had an old Japanese food processor from the 70s or 80s, and I never had this issue with it. It processed everything together and quite perfectly, so I was very disappointed to find that the Bosch food processor didn't measure up, especially with how much I paid for it. As much as I like the other Bosch features, I think I will end up with a Vitamix or Blentech for my food processing needs.
