Works Perfect, But Glass is Very Thin and Fragile
I worked in a world class spa, and we had to make tea for the guests all day long. We only used loose teas because we could buy those in bulk. We brewed those teas in the Bodum Tea Press and it worked perfect for this application. The tea steeps fast and it's easy to pull out the steeper, dump the contents, and start over again. We also liked steeping the tea in glass rather than a machine that steeps it in a plastic pitcher. The big downside is that the glass is thin and fragile, and if you have granite counter tops or a porcelain sink, it's best to assume you are going to break this eventually. The other downside is the cost. Even through restaurant distributors, these were very expensive for what they are. Also, after repeated use (and as I said, we gave these a ton of use) the steeper becomes fragile and may start to crack. Given all of that, we searched and searched for alternatives, and never found anything that compared to this tea press. So in the end, it is definitely worth it.
