I love things that are simple, elegant, durable, and get the job done for a great price. That's why I replaced my old plastic-bladed box fan with an Air King floor fan. It moves a lot of air, a big plus on those days when it's too warm to go without ventilation but not hot enough for air conditioning. Even on those days when you're running the AC, turning on the Air King to the lowest setting helps circulate the cool air. Your AC unit won't have to work overtime, saving you money and saving on the production of excessive greenhouse gases. I live in an odd environment. I live aboard a small sailboat and most items I purchase have to be durable and able to multi-task. This Air King fan is compact, powerful, and made of metal so it's rugged. It's small enough to lift easily out into the cockpit on a warm day, doesn't take up much floorspace down below in the cabin. and is one of the best purchases I've made this year. I expect to have it for several years to come.

I really do not like the heat... no that is not the right words, I HATE the heat. I think I would be happy retiring to the north pole. But I am also cheap, and I can't be running that air conditioning all the time, so I decided to look for a good fan. I bought several other cheap fans and they all died or broke, or were just not powerful enough to blow a single leaf away, so finally my dad was tired of hearing me complain and bought me this big bad fan. Now I've bought another one and I couldn't be more happy. I set one up at the back door and one up at the front and my house is like a whirlwind, it stays nice a cool at-least compared to outside and they have lasted a lot longer then the cheap generic fans I bought in the past. I recomend this fan to all my friends, and when they are wise enough to listen to me they always come back and thank me for it. I hear my dad has one set up in his brand new shed to keep it cool and it works really well even though it's the only circulation in his barn style shed, it even keeps it cool in the attic that is usually really hot.

In the world of fans, there are many options. To get the best bang for your buck, choose a metal bladed fan like the Air King 9230. This thing really blows- in a great way. I put it in front of my air conditioner to circulate the air because our ceilings are too low for a ceiling fan, and soon discovered I did not need the AC on at all, the fan put out enough air to cool our entire house- on a 89 degree day!! You might spend less money on another fan but it will never be as efficient as this one!!!

This fan is great it blow cool air around nicely. But watch out cuz it can make you cold. many people i know love this fan also. Very cooling. Would reccomend to any one who wants to save money from runing the air in their house. It is well built. Has three speeds. Very powerful, decent looking.

 I am writing this review to talk a little about this product, I do not have this fan but I do have a fan that is very similar to this one and I have had it for two years and i just love it, it can be taking from room to room and it is like a mini air conditioner, it has three speeds and blows very good air even on the lowest speed the air blow powerful it a little noisy but it just blows air again like a air conditioner. I would recommend this fan to friends and family i would even be a spokes person for this product thats how much i love my fan. I am cosidering sending one to my children who live outer state because I know that they would love it as much as I do.  another good thing about this fan is that the cord can be detached from either end it is very portable and can easily be taken from room to room and it does do attract a lot of dust, it is very sturdy I have recently move twice and my fan is still standing and in perfect condition this fan is just the best fan I've ever purchased and the price was a great value, there are no bad things I can say about this product only good things can be said. Again i do encourage people to purchase this product because it is truly a wonderful produt and the cost is very reasonable.

MY FATHER BOUGHT ME ONE OF THESE FANS AND IT IS BY FAR THE BEST FAN. I NORMNALLY JUWT GET THE REGULAR BOX FAN, BUT THIS ONE BLEW THAT ONE AWAY. LITERALLY!  GREAT FAN. WOUOLD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WANTING A DURABLE PRODUCTIVE FAN. I USED THIS FAN FIRST IN MY KITCHEN WHERE THERE ISN'T HARDLY ANY AIR THAT CIRCULATES, AND IT GETS RATHER HOT, SO I NEEDED A GOOD BLOWER. THE STRENGTH OF THE AIR REALLY CAME DIRECTLY THROUGH. I ALSO LIKED HOW IT WAS MORE STABLE ON THE FLOOR THAN OTHERS AND HOW EASY IT WAS TO TILT. THE OTHER BOX FAN JUST SAT FLAT AND THAT WAS IT. MY FATHER SAID IT WAS A LITTLE MORE PRICEY BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT AND IT LOOKED SOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONE. IT ALSO SEEMED A LOT MORE QUIET THAN THE OLD TIMEY FANS.

Better for industrial use or in a garage or basement then a home. **Full Story **As I write this, I am remembering the havoc that the **Air King 9230 Floor/Box Fan **caused my poor late father a few years ago. He had not yet moved into the nursing home and was living in a senior's assisted living apartment. Although they claimed to be air conditioned, his little apartment was like a sauna. He never really liked air conditioning anyway, preferring fans, so my sister and I set out to buy him a decent, safe fan that would keep him cool on very hot days. We chose this fan, in part, because we like Air King products and because it seemed to be made well. It sure did work. It nearly huffed and puffed and blew my poor Dad away. **The Fan **This fan stood out because it is all metal. Most of the others we were looking at were plastic and we knew our father would balk at the cheap construction. This one is steel and has aluminum/steel blades. It sits on the floor but can be tilted up or down to the angle you prefer. This is a heavy fan, weighing more than 48 pounds. Despite its weight - or maybe because of it - it seemed to be top heavy and did tip over a few times when we tilted the face up or down. I would not use this fan around kids because little fingers could get cut off with a fan so close to ground but, for adults, the long ten foot cord makes it convenient to place wherever is best without the use of an extension cord. The fan has three speeds on the back which you change by turning a simple little knob. It also has a handle on one side and two wheels on the other side to wheel the fan where you want to place it. That was a relief because the thing was so heavy to pick up and move. It looks quite upscale but looks can be deceiving. We didn't realize until well after we had used the fan that it was a made primarily for industrial use and not for small apartments and senior citizens. **My Use **Once we set the fan up and plugged it in, we tilted it toward Dad and turned it on low. WOW! It was loud. My father was deaf and HE heard it! That setting was decent, circulating some air around the room. The medium setting was quite good at moving the air and blowing stuff around and the last setting - the high one - almost destroyed my father's apartment. We had no idea how strong the wind from the fan would be and, when we switched the knob to high, everything in the place flew. This thing was like a mini hurricane. My father who, at the time, was in decent physical shape, stood up to check the fan out and his glasses flew right off his face. No lie! Ironically though, the fan didn't cool the air much. It just wildly circulated the hot air and sent loose papers and other light objects flying around. Another thing we noticed is that, when we tilted the fan upward so it wasn't directly on our father, the fan head would slowly creep back down after a while. It doesn't click into place. You just push the fan up or down and hope it stays in place. The noise was crazy. That fan sounded like a train! I don't exactly know why it was so loud but it was, even on the lowest setting. The unit didn't get hot even when it ran for several hours. That was a huge relief. However, it was somewhat unsteady. For an expensive fan, it seems as though all the workmanship went into the actual fan and not the base that holds the fan up. Several times, we knocked the fan over while walking past it and only bumping into it. There is no safety turn off feature if the fan is knocked over. It isn't a *bad *fan and it doesn't seem to be a safety hazard - it doesn't get too hot and the plug doesn't spark. It's just very loud and very, very powerful. It does circulate air but too much so unless used in a very large area. **My Viewpoint **Noisy, slightly unstable, and a windbag. No, not me, the fan! This fan is better suited for factories or large areas where noise and keeping light items in place isn't a factor. I can't go with more than 3 stars for this wind machine. It's just TOO MUCH to be considered a good home fan, in my opinion. I am not sure if I feel like crying or smiling when I think of my father's glasses flying off his face and us running to catch them when the fan was on high. It's a memory. But not one I will cherish. For normal homes, this fan is overkill and will drive you crazy with its loudness and super wind circulation. If you are looking for a fan for industrial use, this one might fit your needs well. ***3 stars and only recommended to those who need an industrial fan. ***
