I purchased this monitor two years ago at a fantastic price.  I've always preferred Samsung as a provider for televisions.  This was the first time I purchased a Samsung product as a computer monitor.  I was upgrading from a very old measly 15" Dell from way too long ago.  This was a huge upgrade.  I watch a lot of movies and TV shows from my computer and this provides as a great alternative to a TV.  The picture is great and plenty big enough from across the room (8-10 feet away). The colors are great and it's HD quality (when applicable).  Playing games on this thing is kind of overwhelming sometimes... is there such thing as too much electronic stimulation?!  If there's any complaint you could have for this, it might be that it runs a bit hot.  But then again, most electronics are going to run way hotter than we'd like them to.  I guess that's the trade off for all this awesome technology we're flooded with today.

If you want a legitimate computer monitor than Samsung T240 is your best bet. This monitor has resolution of 1920 by 1200, unlike most of the other monitors which only have resolution of 1920 by 1080. Although it may seem that little extra resoultion does not make difference, but in reality you will notice that extra space. If you have lot of programs opened at the same time, then this monitor will give you lot of space to work with. It's even good for the movies. Since the monitor's top and the bottom edges are black, you will not notice the extra black while watching movies in the dark. Some down point of the monitor are that it does not have lot of options for video connections, so you won't be able to connect lot of things to your monitor. It does not have speakers either so you won't be able to use it as TV that easily. Last but not least, there are no usb options on the usb, which is not a deal breaker but it would have been nice since you are paying a pretty high price for this monitor.

I've owned this set for about two years and I am pretty satisfied with it. I am limited on space, so I wanted a monitor that I could use with my computer, but one that could also double as a television set. This monitor has a TV tuner, which enables you to use it with an HDTV antenna. I picked up several local channels and got great service before I got cable. This set has two HDMI ports, so I can plug in my set top box and my Playstation on one set. Now, I use it primarily as a television since my set up has changed. The picture quality is very good, and text is fairly crisp. Response time is fast enough for gaming. My only complaint is the fact that it is a 16:10 monitor versus 16:9. This is not an issue if you're only using this as a monitor. But if you plan to use it as a television, you will always have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. All HD feed is 16:9, and comes in at 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 resolution. This monitor is 1920 x 1200, so you will have 60 pixels of black on the top and bottom. Those extra pixels are welcome for computer usage though.
