Better than any cordless phone I owned.

The Panasonic KX TGA740B Cordless Phone is by far the best cordless phone I have owned. My family and I would buy a set of new house phones every year. The last set we purchased was the Panasonic KX TGA740B Cordless Phone and it has been three years since we have it. I am not saying the phone is perfect and had no flaws, but I am saying it is a good phone and definitely worth the money we paid for it. After two years of using it, the batteries on the entire set began to go bad so I ordered new batteries online and put them in the phones. The phones were working like new again. Now we are in the fourth of year of owning these phones and the buttons are slowly beginning to stop working. In order to press on one of the buttons, I have to press down really hard. The call quality is still as good as the first phone call made in these phones, but after such a long period of time, anything would begin to go bad and need new renewal, even a Panasonic KX TGA740B Cordless Phone. I am very happy with the years that I have owned this phone.

Great House Phone!

I love this house phone! It's a great design, mine came in Maroon & black. The sound quality is wonderful. There isn't any annoying echoing & also it doesn't sound like the person on the other line is far away. I've had that problem with a lot of phones. There's a really easy menu to use right on the hand set. It comes with a build in answering machine. Very easy to listen & delete messages as needed. It's also got all the same features as any other great land line does such as a location detector, phone to phone intercom, built in phone book. It's got it all & much more. Also, my favorite is that it lights up orange when there is a call. No more bright lights in the middle of the night for sleepers who keep a phone near their bed.

This Panasonic Cordless Phone is pretty nice. When I first seen it I liked the features of the phone and everything. It's honestly a pretty decent phone. It is durable and lasts forever, but the battery won't stayed charged for me very long. Other than that it's a great phone.

Good quality for a great price

This is the second Panasonic cordless phone I have purchased. These phones last a long time, except for their batteries. Depending upon how often you discharge the battery, you will not have to buy replacement batteries for at least 3 years. When you have to buy new rechargeable batteries, you just have to buy AAA rechargeable batteries that are found at most electronics stores. Other cordless phones require special square batteries that are harder to find and must match exactly to the pins of the phone. The range is excellent. I can walk around the outside of my house and down the driveway while still talking on the phone. This Panasonic cordless phone is available at most big box stores or online for purchase. Most of all, Panasonic has a very good reputation for manufacturing products that last longer than other manufacturers without having to pay astronomical prices.

Nice features, poor voice quality...at times

We purchased this panasonic system after our 8 year old Panasonic cordless phone set was possibly having issues. (still not sure if it was the phones or our phone line) Our last Panasonic phones had lasted so well and been of such good quality that we looked into purchasing another Panasonic. I liked the latest features that this phone had. We are able to connect cell phones via bluetooth. I like this feature so that I can hear the cellphone ringing in any room of the house, especially with the ringer is down low or turned off. I also liked the ability to be on the cellphone in the car, and transfer it to a headset when I walk in the door of my house. Headsets are just easier to hold and talk on...well, except for this one. Apparently, while it sounds fine on my end, it makes me sound like I am in a tin can to those I am speaking to (while using cellphone calling on house handset). I have also noticed that the range is far less than my old panasonics...with crackles starting when I move much beyond the small perimeter of my house. Even worse, the handsets will start ringing (like a tin can) from my end occasionally for no reason when I am on speaker phone. This problem can normally be remedied by taking myself off speaker phone and reputting on speaker phone again, but not always. The features are too cool to pass, but the verdict is still out as to whether I will keep this system as main system or go back to my old one.
