Dishonest - Don't Believe Them - Take Your Money Elsewhere

1) Niagara Cycle Works posts items for sale, and in stock, that they don't have in stock. 2) Niagara Cycle Works accepted my purchase of an item and listed it as preparing for shipping. This was a falsehood as one cannot prepare an item for shipping when it does not have the item in hand. 3) After 3 days of preparing for shipping Niagara Cycle Works management says that the item sold out on Xmas Day. Yet another fabrication. Nobody sells out on Xmas Day - the slowest business day of the year. How did they sell out of an item that they've been preparing for shipping for 3 days? And if this was the case why didn't they offer to substitute the same item in another color that they also listed as in stock? The answer is clear: because they never did have any in stock. 4) By their own admission the distributor for Lezynne has stopped doing business with Niagara Cycle Works. Perhaps others as well. The reason is unknown. 5) Niagara Cycle Works entered into a contract to provide an item to me under false pretences. Niagara Cycle Works placed a hold on my credit card. I required the item by a specific date but Niagara Cycle Works deceived me regarding the product's availability & delivery date. Now a week later I don't have the item & I don't have my money back. I have been in polite communication with the management & staff of Niagara Cycle Works. But they have continued to be dishonest & perpetrate mistruths about the mythical items that they claim to have in stock & preparing for shipping. These are deceptive & improper business practices according to the New York State Attorney General's Office. I have been doing business on line since 1999. I have almost 10 years of trouble-free purchases from Amazon & its Marketplace partners. This purchase from Niagara Cycle Works has without a doubt been the worse. Quite frankly people don't normally lie like they do at Niagara Cycle Works. And don't believe anything they post in response to this. They'll just keep on lying.

Poor Shipping

Wow I should have looked on this site before I made an order! I ordered some bike items and in 5 days time they were just now getting around to shipping, sorry but that's really poor customer service, this stuff should have been on the road as of 2 days at the latest. Shipping option selection has to do with the speed of the shipper/carrier, selecting a lower option for shipping to save some money should never be racked and stack in the warehouse as a level of priority. In my opinion if this is how they practice customer service then they need to reevaluate their customer satisfaction policies. In a nut shell a serious management problem! In the future I will not consider ever placing another order through Niagara Cycles.

Sub Par customer service

Like others have noted,poor customer service,misrepresentation for delivery times...This company may have grown in the last couple of years,but there's no excuse for inferior staff training.How can one not find an item number when you WORK at the company?Then due to frustration,this same person then becomes progressively more rude as you suggest how they can assist you better?! ONLY found myself contacting Niagara Cycle Works since another retailer was out of stock.After reading the delivery,post sales experiences,I'm glad I didn't close the deal with them. Albeit,I couldn't get that far anyways,the staff saved me by hanging up.Online options expand each year,service,and knowledge matters when you deal with online chats,to the odd phone call,or e-mail.

Very disapointed in Niagra Cycles. Ordered set of "in stock" tires and paid for 1-3 day shipping. Bought on July 3rd and it's July 11 and the tires have not even shipped. If you need it in a hurry I would not recommend Niagra Cycle Works When I called they said that I should have read the fine print, even though it does not appear during the buying process. You have to separately figure out that 1-3 day shipping really means 4-8 day shipping. Even overnight means 2-6 days. You won't know that unless you click on a link. Your reciept will not indicate tht there will be a delay in shipping, rathers says estimated 1-3 day shipping. edit 7/13/12 Just to update. Still do not have the tires. When and if they ever come in, I and returing them. This was one of the worst internet buying experiences ever. If they would have just been honest and told me on 7-9 or 7-10 that they did not have them in stock I cxould have gotten them in time from another source. But instead Niagra Cycles lead me on an on.

Will Take Your Money...Even If The Product Is Not In Stock

*Last week (8-12-08) I ordered a new front wheel, tires and rim strips for my Schwinn Varsity restoration project.  My credit card was charged the next morning.  I waited for a confirmation of shipment via Fed-Ex, so that I could track it.  Never got it.  So I Emailed them, "When will this order ship?"  I got a lame excuse back that they were in the process of relocating their warehouse to a bigger, better location.* *This morning (8-18-08) I tried calling them...no answer.  I immediately called my credit card company & Emailed them again to cancel the order.  I got a very glib apologetic Email back from them stating that only the rim strips in stock.  What good does it do to order something via the Internet, if the product **IS NOT IN STOCK?  **They sure charged my credit card fast enough.  * *About a half hour later I did receive an Email from them confirming they were issuing a credit.  Bottom line...do not order anything from these people.  They claim fast shipping, but do not show whether or not a product is "in stock".* *I ordered the wheel through my local bike shop, A&M Cyclery.  Karl has the tires & rim strips in stock.  On top of that, he asked for **NO $$$** in advance.  I'll stick with my local shops for parts from now on.*

Worst online shopping experience EVER

I will never shop here again! I placed an order on 4/19/11 and paid for "expedited" shipping so I would get it for my husband's birthday. Shipping time was listed as 1-3 business days. It is now May 1st and I still have not received the shipment. Communication has been pretty much non-existent. When I contacted them, they finally responded and offered up a bunch of excuses for the delay (which I'm finding out now is an ongoing problem with them after reading the other reviews). Very, very, poor service and extremely slow shipping! Not worth the hassle to save a few bucks!

Niagara Cycle works is a FANTASTIC seller! I have returned to them on numerous occasions in the last year. Their prices are excellent, so much that although I do comparative shopping, I still always start ( and end up buying) at Niagara. Highly recommended & reputable!

I've had a good experience with Niagara cycle in the orders I've placed.  These include baskets, upright handlebars for a project, brake levers, bar tape, front and rear derailleurs, a headset hanger for cantilever brakes, and an SLX triple crankset.  Their prices are among the lowest I've found, and twice I've contact customer service and had responses that were withing 2-3 days and once required a reshipment of a threaded nut for my headset cable hanger -- they just went ahead and shipping a hew unit- no problems with the new one.  I've not had any items out-of-stock, so I can't comment there.  I'm a bit dumbfounded by the negative reviews- I'll most certainly continue to order from them.    No, I don't work for Niagara.  I'm a field biologist who bike commutes and I do my own bike work.  That's it.

Very poor customer service, will give you the run around!

Worst customer service ever!!! I needed to make an exchange when buying a bike seat, contacted them and instead of working with me sent me a completely irrelevant email back stating why I was wrong about needing an exchange, The bike seat was too large for my frame and they said "well you shouldn't be able to touch the ground anyways". I ended up ordering the correct one and selling the other one on E-bay. I sent emails 6 days in a row after the first one that they sent me back and they were all ignored. When I tried to call their internet orders dept. the machine said that they were not accepting calls. What a run around! I will NEVER order from Niagara Cycle Works ever again!!!
