When I saw the Baby Alive African American version I was totally excited about purchasing it for my niece. I remember receiving it as a child in the Caucasian version and played with it at all times. I loved changing its diaper, feeding it with the imitation baby food it brought. I remember having to change its diaper because it acted just like a baby would after being fed and it would wet the diaper. Therefore, when I had the ability of paying the it forward as they would say to a child, it was priceless for me to see the happy look on my niece's face. What I like the mist about this doll is that it helps teach some of the responsibilities that come with giving a baby and which hopefully deter a young gril from wanting a real one at a young age.

Even though the Baby Alive Brushy Baby Doll was a gift, I was a bit disappointed by it. The particular "race" of the doll was selected because she is mixed race. My relative thought she could "relate" to this one better. I was so disappointed because the doll doesn't really do anything. It is more old fashioned and I thought they could have at least livened it up a bit. The only moving piece is the tooth brush - except the tooth past which has a realistic looking paste hidden until you pop it up to use. The doll's hair is easy to manipulate and change but came with no accessories for hair. My daughter just uses her own for the doll and they seem to work perfectly. The diaper is pretty basic quality. Overall, it's sturdy and will not immediately wear thin too easily. I initially figured that my daughter would get bored with it rather quickly but I was wrong. She plays with it somewhat frequently. It's used enough to be worth purchasing so overall, it has about average value in my opinion.

Fun, just like a real baby. My friends daughter has one and she had a lot of fun with it. It's like the dolls we had growing up, you feed it with its pretend spoon of peas and give it something to drink from the bottle that has pretend milk in it. The doll makes sound as she is eating or drinking. I forget if it makes sound when needs to be changed. I'm assuming it just cries. The accessories are perfect size for little ones as there not too small, but I think it should of come with a bag to put the stuff in so nothing gets lost as you need these accessories to work the doll. Other than that it's a fun little doll and your child will have a blast. I would recommend ages 4 and under unless of course you're child is a huge fan of dolls. Ours is 6 and not really interested.
