I have been using this since my doctor switched me off of prantoprazole mid last year. This is great to use! For me I haven't really had any side effects from it and I think it's because it does have baking soda in it. It's a big relief for me when i use it and i am good for the rest of the day and not have any problems with anything.

I have had Gastroesophageal reflux disease for over a decade. I have tried EVERY medicine to help relieve it. Zegerid is the only one that treats my systems and has not given me any effects. Bring on the coffee, alcohol, chocolate, fatty foods, acidic foods, and spicy foods. I can once again enjoy my foods with no worries about heart burn or reflux. As a Registered Nurse I must explain why this medication is so effective. Zegerid contains a combination of omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate. Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces. Sodium bicarbonate is an antacid which helps to neutralize the stomach acids. This medication is so effective that I have missed a dose and not had any gastric symptoms for almost two days. Other GERD medicines gave me loose stools, but Zegerid has not. Zegerid has been my stomach's savior. Like most people I love to eat. Zegerid has allowed me to enjoy food again.

I was having super bad heartburn (my stomach felt like it was on fire) but was given this by my doctor and within 1 hour of taking it, I felt like a whole new person! It doesn't work instantaneously but when it does start working, I don't have any more pain!

I was diagnosed with GERD about 3 years ago. I recently switched from my old OTC hearburn medication to Zegerid. Zegerid is great at controlling my heartburn, and the price is much better than some other brands.

When I found out that my insurance carrier would no longer pay for my heartburn meds, I was devastated. but, I found the Zegerid OTC. It has completely changed my life. The combination of the medication + the sodium bicarbonate is amazing. I was taking it every day for the first 2 weeks. but I've found that now, I can take every 2 or three days with the same amount of effectiveness! YAY!!!

This passed summer I decided to try the new product Zegerid instead of the Prevacid I had been using for several years.  It works great!  I like it much much better than the Prevacid.  I always find coupons for this product so I am able to save money on it and finding a coupon for prevacid was always hit or miss.  and now since these OTC products will no longer be allowed purchases on out flexible spending account I surely want to find the best deal on the best product for my symptoms.  So I have been using it for about six months and have been symptom free for five months.  At month four I decided to try taking it every other day and have been very successfully symptom free.  I really find this product to be very helpful.  Although the capsul is quite big and a little harder to swallow possibly for some who have trouble swallowing pills.  But it works effectively for me and I will keep buying it with coupons and keep continuing to save money on this medication.

When i first tried Zegerid i thought it was just one of those normal heart burn medicines. Zegerid surprised me though. It not only was a reflux releiver but it also treated heart burn quickly. I just wish it was cheaper and because i cannot get it in prescription form it is hard for me to buy it every moth when i need it. I have never had a heart burn and reflux medicine that worked so well on me. It has two products in one. One that clears the heart burn and reflux disorder but it also has another product that coats your stomach and you can eat freely and not be afraid to have reflux or heart burn on many things you eat after taken. Well that is the way i feel. I reccomend anyone that uses heart burn and reflux medicine at least give Zegerid a try. I tink you will be greatly surprised.

I have been using Zegerid for about two years now. I have suffered from Acid REflux Disease for almost eight years. I have used different prescriptons in the past with success, however a couple of years ago my symptoms returned and my physician said sometimes after years of use, these drugs stop working. Consequently my physician chose to put me on Zegerid to see if it would work, and with much relief on my part, it works wonderfully. I stared out on 40mg. twice per day, however I now only need to take it once per day, and the effects are the same. If you suffer from acid reflux you know how bad it can be, and to know your prescription medication no longer works can be scary. However I think the addition of sodium boconbonate to protect the omeprazole is a genius idea and really does seem to work for me. I can only hope it continues to work for me for years to come unless they should come up with a cure for this disease.

I sufferer from GERD as a result of multiple intestinal surgeries. My stomach produces an  excess of acid which, unfortunately, leads to chronic hearburn and nighttime regurgitation. I had been on Prevacid for several years which is a powerful drug for controlling heartburn. Even on the Preavacid, I was often getting breakthrough heartburn in the evening. This is when my doctor prescribed Zegerid. With most proton pump inhibitors, you have a window of time to take the drug for best efficacy. They should be taken on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before eating. One of the benefits of Zegerid is that it can be taken without regard to food. Zegerid is a combination of the active ingredient in Prilosec plus sodium bicarbinate. The sodium bicarbinate goes to work quickly to control the hearburn while the Prilosec works on controlling the heartburn long term. Personally, I find it to take about an hour on me to fully control breakthrough heartburn, but I am thankful that it does control hearburn that gets out of hand prior to being due for my next  dose of Prevacid.

I have suffered from heartburn and indegestion on and off for two years now.  When I couldn't take that burning sensation I decided to head to the doctors office.  I was first prescribed Prilosec.  Prilosec worked for a couple of weeks and then the symptoms started to reappear.  I took this prescription as prescribe, and I couldn't understand why my heartburn kept coming back.  So I decided to go back to the doctor's office.  I was than prescribed Nexium, which is an awesome drug buy the way.  I still have  some prescription Prilosec , but don't want to take it because Nexium works wonders.  The only thing is Nexium does costs more that Prilosec.  But feeling good is what matters, I would rather pay extra if that is what it takes.  I did keep the prescription in case I get a flare  up and don't have nexium because I ran out or something.  My suggestion if you are on Prilosec, is to take with a glass of milk early in the morning.
