Three months ago I made the switch to Tri Lo Sprintec, the generic of Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, after having taken Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about two and a half years. I was pleasantly surprised about the lower-cost generic option, which I'd been hoping would come out soon. After I first got the new product I did a quick google search that turned up quite a few negative reviews, though some were positive. It made me wary, so I paid close attention to any side effects that might come up. After three months I haven't had any problems at all. No weight gain, no spotting, no feeling irritable or anything. Ultimately any single person will react differently to any change in medication, but don't let the negative reviews out there keep you from at least giving it a try. If it doesn't agree with you you can always switch back, and if it does work for you the cost savings are considerable. I also like that it isn't a round dial pack. I know it seems silly, but I always felt like it was the most obvious thing if you took that round pack out in public. This one is a little rectangle pack that seems a little more inconspicous.
