I bought this SanDisk 16gb usb drive for a very good price last Black Friday. It is compact, not too big and not too small. The size is right and you can store it anywhere without losing it. I have lost lots of tiny usb flash drives over the years. This is a USB 2.0 drive, so the data transfer rate is decent. The attractive feature of this drive for me is the ability to retract it back and forth. That way, I don't have to open and close it with a small cap like some of the other usb drives. Once it is plugged in to the usb port of the computer, it will light up (orange light). When the computer is writing or accessing data from the usb drive, the light will flash rapidly. When it is in the idle state, the light will lit and fade slowly. I think that's pretty cool. I've stored lots videos, photos, and word documents on the drive. They are always there when I need to access them.

I've gone through a lot of USB flash drives in the past, but a lot of them have either outright broken in half or just failed suddenly. Then I got the Sandisk 16GB flash drive and today, it's still going strong after a couple years of use. Data transmission is fast and clean, which is the most important thing. The flash drive also excels in durability. I forgot it in my pocket a while back and it went through the washer and dryer. When I found it, I tried it out and all of the data was still intact. Up until about 2 months ago, I was using it constantly, almost every day. Now, it doesn't get quite as much use, but it still works perfectly each time I use it. One minor complaint I do have is that the sliding switch feels a little cheap and it feels as if a light push on it could break it. However, it's still a great little flash drive that you should get if you're looking for a durable and reasonably-priced solution to your portable storage needs.

I had lost my 4 GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro after using it for atleast a year and a half without any problem so I figured I'd stick with the same company who had provided me with a great product. This flash drive has been through a beating in my backpack with all the rest of the stuff I carry in the same pocket as this (mouse, keys, pens) but still hasn't stopped working or have I had a corrupt file. The 16 GB is perfect because I still am not using a quarter of the space I have available to me but it is nice to know that it is there if I need it. I got the newer design of the flash drive, however I'd have preferred the old one because on the new one the location on the drive itself where the key ring is supposed to go is almost impossible to use. I tried putting a old key ring through it but I was unsuccessful. I ended up just sticking the lanyard that I got with a previous flash drive and using it that way, but if you are the kind of person that carries the flash drive in the same ring you have your key's, you might not be able to do that with this one. Other than the key ring issue, if you are just a person that is looking for a good amount of storage from a reliable company, this is the product to buy.

I wouldn't reccomend the SanDisk Flash Drives to anyone. I have owned three in the past, the 2GB, the 4GB, and the 16GB, and they all broke on me, deleting all of my files and data. Sure, they work alright for a while, but sooner or later, they are bound to stop working. Not to mention that they come with pre-installed software that is unnecessary and just takes up your storage space and they are really expensive. I wouldn't trust them for anything. And, they aren't really MAC compatible either.
