I have three flashlights that use D size batteries; they are used all year round when the power goes out or I need to get something out of one of the closets. Because these specific flashlights aren't used on a regular basis I need to buy batteries that are going to have a long standby life and not leak. I made the mistake of buying regular D size batteries and didn't use one of the flashlights for about four months and when I went to use it there was almost no power left to them. Have that happen when the lights go out and that's the last time that you make that mistake. The Advanced Formula Energizer Alkaline series is made for long standby life; they are great to have for seasonal use but you should check your flashlights on a regular basis if you live in an area where you lose power often. In the summer we lose power on an almost weekly basis when everyone is running their air conditioners or a transformer blows up. Sometimes there are accidents near a transformer and they need to be turned off for the power company to work on restoring downed lines. I like that the expiration date is stamped on the outside of the package; if I get them when they are on sale I can rotate them to use the oldest ones first. They are normally sold in a two-pack but the flashlights that I have require four D size batteries. I have never been disappointed with these since I switched to them; they have consistently worked any time that I have reached for a flashlight when the power has gone out or we've blown a fuse.

I only buy Energizer! They are the best and last the longest, which they've proven over and over again. I've used every brand out there and they always die much faster than Energizer. There are certain items that I will pay more for the right brand and this is one of those items.

Sometimes they have good deals on large packs.These batteries have good voltage. In addition to voltage, batteries are rated in milliAmpere-hours (mAh) - thousandths of amp-hours. So a 2,700mAh battery is equivalent to a 2.7Ah battery. Although the Sanyo eneloop and UniRoss Hybrio batteries discussed above are recommended for digital cameras as well as other devices, they're only rated at 2,000mAh. There are regular NiMH rechargeable batteries available with capacities up to 2,700mAh for longer runtimes per charge. These high-capacity rechargeable batteries are a good choice for powering digital cameras in situations where flash will be used a lot. These long lasting hours will keep your equipment running very efficiently.

The Energizer Advanced Formula "D" sized alkaline battery is a wonderful choice among batteries. The slogan for Energizer is easy to remeber; "They keep going and going..." and these advanced formula alkaline batteries do just that. I purchased me some of these batteries not too long ago when my power was out. They were not any different in price compared to all the other brands that were available. I used them in my portable cd player/radio, which holds six, and they are still going! It has been nearly a month ago since I bought them and have listened to my cd player at least 12 hours using them, and have since used the batteries for electronic toys. I would highly recommend Energizer Advanced Formula "D" sized alkaline batteries to anyone who wants long lasting batteries. They are always in stock and compete well in price against other battery manufactors. If you try them I'm sure you will see for yourself that Energizer batteries live up to their slogan.

This line of batteries is perfect for a variety of electronics and allows for long lasting power. Forget about these batteries not meeting up to expectations. Some batteries are bought new and after slight use they are no longer able to be used because they run out of energy so fast, but these energizer's take care of that problem and leave you in awe of their efficiency.
