I've been running with my iPod for a couple years, but put off getting the Nike + iPod system at first since I don't like Nike shoes.  Well it turns out, you don't need the shoes!

There are two parts - the sensor, which fits inside any pair of compatible Nike shoes and the receiver, which is a small...

I have had the iPod Sports kit, and it was intresting to say the least but I have to say that though it worked great when I had the iPod 2nd gen to which it worked with. When I upgraded to an iPod touch... it wasn't working for me any more. Other then that I had to spend $90.00 + for a pair of shose... review »

My husband got me the nike sport kit for Christmas to go with my Ipod. I love to run anyways and he thought this would be a good gift and he was right. I went out and bought a new pair of Nike running  shoes to go with it. You have to make sure you get the nikes with the + as they are the ones with the opening for the sensor. I started it up, picked my power song, Lose youself by eminem and started running. There are many different options you can choose such as Distance, Time or Calories. I always choose distance and a voice comes on over my music to tell me for instance I have run 1 km or that... review »

I bought this as a gift for my dad. He went out running daily and then one day it just stopped working. He had to buy another one and that one quit working just a couple months later. It's a great idea, but I don't know if we'll buy another one any time soon.

This product rocks. I was an avid runner before but now I can keep track of my progress with almost no effort at all. If only it had GPS so i could see where i've been running! anyhow, love it. The software syncs perfectly and easily.

The iPod Sport Kit was recommended to me so I decided to try this out. I use this when I go to the gym or aerobics but mainly when I go for walks. It's simple to use and it motives you to do better with each task. The one thing I don't like is that it freezes up sometimes when you switch quickly from sport mode back to your main iPod menu. I've had to reset my iPod Nano twice so far. Also, this will not work on crosstrainers or stationary bikes since you're not physically taking steps. Some gym machines are iPod-ready but it depends on where you go.

If you don't have Nike shoes...there are...

Nike+ Sensor was added to my tools to keep me healthy, June 2009.  I love it and use it all the time!  I was more excited when I found out that I didn't have to have the special shoe.

Pros:

  • The Sensor talks to you through your iPod, you can even pick a male or female voice. You set it up with the information you want it to tell you.
  • It is small and there are rubber cases available that will attach your sensor to any shoe.
  • There is a sleep button so when it is not in use you are not using up all of the power.
  • If you are a marathoner and can't use a MP3 player in your runs there is an...

I love this gadget.  It is perfect for the casual runner who is not looking at investing  $200-$300 into a running watch.  At only $30 (If you own a nano) this is a great little gadget.  You can set your workouts, do goals on the website, and there is a little motivational person living inside your ipod who updates you on your progress as you run.  I have heard that the sensors do die, and there is no way to replace the battery.  However, online I have seen the sensor only sold for less than the original set-up.  I have had mine, and used it actively, for about 2 months with o problem. ... review »

I love my ipod nano with the Nike adapter.  I don't have the Nike shoes, but there are kits that can be found on Amazon that go around the shoelaces.  When I ordered it from Amazon, I also got a case that goes around the wrist or arm.

My sport kit was immediately and easily calibrated on my treadmill.  I am not a runner, but marathon walker.  I love how I can set it for a basic work out, or get myself motivated by setting a time, distance (miles or kilometers) ore even calories.  The history feature also keeps track of all of my workouts which can be downloaded on Nike.com.

 I find it to be...

I started running about a year ago.  A couple months after I started, a friend had recomended I purchase a Nike+.   I'm glad I took his advice.  It tracks my miles for me so I don't have to take the extra time and gas to drive the route I ran to try to figure out how many miles it was.  It is so easy to use and it also tracks how many calories you burn each workout.  I also love plugging my ipod into my computer and the ipod sends my workouts to nikeplus.com where I can look at all of my previous runs, set goals, enter challenges, and interact with other runners.  I won't run without my... review »

This is an excellent product, there's no doubt about it.  It is a great tool for training to stay in shape or for someone getting in shape.  It keeps track of your distance, calories burned and when you bet a goal.  The only things that I personally don't like about this product is the fact that you cannot replace the battery you have to replace the entire component.  You must either buy the entire package, the shoe sensor and the ipod attatchment or you can go to Nike.com and purchase just the shoe sensor for about five dollars less than the enitre package. Otherwise, I love this product!!... review »

The Nike ipod sports kit ($29) is the musical motivator to help you run or walk that weight off! The Nike chip fits into your Nike shoe, or you can get an adapter ($5 or less) that will fit onto your shoelaces. The other piece in the sports kit fits onto the bottom of your ipod, connecting the two so it can talk to you as you go. The sensor is waterproof and unbreakable. The ipod will track your progress as you run, measuring distance, calories, time and pace. This is a wonderful gift for yourself, as well as for others!

I was looking for something to help me track my progress and this thing does it!  I recently just decided to start exercising again.  I love the way it tells you when you are half way done and keeps track of your workouts.

I have really enjoyed the training programs that are on the Nike site.  It has really helped me stay motivated.

If you don't want to buy new Nike's just buy the pouch on Amazon, it works wonderfully.

I have recommended this to several people already!

The Nike+ sports device requires an iPod Nano to work. You also need a special Nike+ pair of running shoes. You place the sensor in your shoe, the receiver on the dock connector of your iPod, choose your song and run. The device communicates to you the distance you've gone, how far you have to go, the pace at which you're currently running. Although you will occasionally need to re-calibrate the sensor, this is a wonderful running aid that just works!

Even though I am not a runner I thought i would try it anyway and it works great. It even works when your are walking on treadmill. I love the fact that you have a power song that all have to do is press the center button for 3 seconds and it will play it when you need a boost durring your walk/run. Don't think this is just for runners. It's not. It's for walkers too. You can even track your miles online and set goals with nike+.com free account.
