Simple yet unique design - YP-Q3

5

I purchased Samsung's recent launch YP-Q3 to listen to music when I go out for a walk in the park.Q3 has three strengths of 'design', 'sound quality' and 'broad file support'.When I first saw Q3, I really liked the design. People will have different things to say about the design depending on their personal taste, but I personally like the simple design of Q3 and the striking pink color. The white plastic body and the pink aluminum frame make for a fascinating design. The product is compact, light and easily portable - a perfect match for exercise! Not only the design, but the sound quality is also very good. The embedded Sound Alive, the new sound field technology, definitely offers a much more sophisticated and commendable sound quality. It's just my personal thought, but Samsung's recent products are receiving good evaluation on their sound field technology. I guess they are highlighting sound quality as their core strength. It might be that I am especially fond of Q3 because I like to control EQ for a more exaggerated and rich sound. Q3 delivers a sound that has depth, yet clear and sharp. Hmmm.. it's like my ears are full with dynamic sound. In particular, rock music has very lively beat and resonating vocal. The product is also very effective in delivering high pitch. Also, the ear phone that comes with the player is a premium in-ear type headphone, not a cheap giveaway type. The product definitely delivers on Samsung's intention of optimizing for music listening. 'Drag & drop' enables the users to store music files in the player with high ease. You can also store and play videos without having to go through a separate encoding process, which is really convenient. Q3 not only supports MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, FLAC files but also MP3HD.Q3 also has good battery efficiency. Assuming that you listen to music 4 hours a day, the battery lasts for about 7~8 days.Q3 is a low-end product and is good for music listening, but it also supports various other functions. Common functions such as photo, voice recording, FM Radio and texts are also possible. IT also supports multi-tasking like the smartphones these days. However, the screen is too small that it's not quite good to watch videos or read long texts.Planning to get a mp3p mostly to listen to music? Then, I recommend Q3. After all, there are not that many products that support high quality mp3 such as FALC, MP3HD files!

Eye-grabbing fancy color and sophisticated design - YP-Q3

5

MP3 players recently launched in the market increasingly seem to mimic Apple's design. Products with wide design variety were introduced every month in the past, but it seems like the products are not as diverse as before, and some are outright copies of Apple's products. However, leading companies such as Samsung and Sony have their own unique style. Sony's 2010 products all come with buttons that look like Mickey Mouse. It's cute, for sure, but not my taste, so I was hesitating until I discovered Samsung's Q3.  In fact, Q3 has a very simple design. But the refined and neat design, along with the eye-grabbing vibrant color, helps the product stand out. In particular, the white-pink match will win the hearts of many female users. The simple design further highlights the pink color, yet managing to be cute and fancy without being excessive. Also, the aluminum material adds to the luxurious feel. The user interface uses the same color as the product, giving a finishing touch to the design - a clear point of differentiation compared to other products where the product design and user interface are not aligned. However, it would have been even greater if there were more color options. It's a pity that Q3 only comes in white and black. The sound quality of Q3 (which is a basic feature of mp3 players) is as satisfactory as its design. Apparently, the SoundAlive function is an upgraded version of Samsung's previous DNSe3.0 sound engine. Expert reviews say that 3D amplifies sense of space and clarity to the sound. With the Concert Hall function, the stereo headphone is enough to make you feel as if you were sitting in a real concert hall. You can adjust the size and level value to change the size of the concert hall and the vibration of the music. If you maximize the size and level, you will really feel as if you were in a large concert hall. The LCD is not that big, but you can still watch video clips. I have clips of my cats and watch them whenever I feel down. Of course, I do not plan to watch any movies or soap operas with it. I definitely think that YP-Q3 will be an excellent choice for those looking for nice design and good sound quality, rather than complex features.

Enjoy deep resonating sound with YP-Q3

The teaser clip of Q3 that I watched at IFA 2010 had left me so excited about Q3. The sleek design and vivid color were all I ever wanted. So, as soon as I heard that the product was in the market, I ran to the store to purchase YP-Q3. On top of the perfect design, sound quality was more than what I expected. I'm not a fancy writer, but I want to share my review - please bear with me! First of all, the device has a design that risks being too plain and cheap looking if made of plastic. However, the aluminum frame gives a much more sophisticated feel. The black body with the silver lining is classy and luxurious, but the white with the pink match is enough to win the hearts of ladies. Also, the tactile button (rather than touch) may make the device appear too old (of the analog age), but I say that it is way more practical and honest than slow response from average touch function. There are a total of nine control buttons, but the layout of the buttons (navigation buttons of four different directions surrounded by another layer of buttons pointing to four directions) is a much simpler look that when having buttons here and there and everywhere. Also, I give thumbs up to being able to set your own most-frequently-used functions. I am also hugely satisfied with the sound quality. It supports the Sound Alive function recently introduced by Samsung and probably because of that, there is better resonance and surrounding effect. How should I say... there is a much deeper vibration to the sound. Also, it supports various music formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG and FLAC. You can watch videos, too! Well, the 2.2 inch screen is not that big for videos, but the 320x240 resolution promises high picture quality. It supports various codec such as Divx, xivd and H.264, so you are saved from the painful burden of having to convert all the files one by one. YP-Q3 can play up to 45 hours of music, 6 hours of videos - the battery is quite efficient. It's a great value for people like me who listen to music a lot. Before I got Q3, I used iPhone, but honestly speaking, you couldn't listen to too much music because of the battery limitations. One improvement point - the device turns to hold automatically if the display goes off. I have to press the button to undo the hold much more than necessary. But overall, this is a very attractive mass MP3 which is easy to manipulate, easy to use and with no burden on battery limit! You can listen to all the music you want!
