Best purchase ever!

I bought my presto pressure canner mostly because my husband hunts and our family likes canned deer meat. I have fell in love with this canner. It is a very simple process and as long as you follow the instructions exactly your food will be completely safe to eat. In the past I hated to buy and fresh fruit or vegetable in any large quantities because it would go bad before my family could eat it all but the canner has solved this problem for me. It is also fantastic for making a quick healthy meal for my family with out all the nasty pesticides that are found in commercial foods nowadays. I highly recommend purchasing a canning kit with this product and make sure it includes a jar lifter it makes the process of canning much faster and lessens the chance you will burn yourself when you are lifting the VERY hot jars out of the canner. I also want to add I was nervous about canning on my electric stove but I have not encountered any problems using this canner on my stove.

In Addition to Canning, this Unit Lets You Do Crowd-sze Meals!!!

About 35 years ago, I had a Presto Pressure Canner, but gave it away. I've3 been regretting it ever since then!! But as of late, I've been wanting another pressure canner. Another Presto unit! Just got it yesterday, and already, I put it into use! I just made a big pot of veggie beed soup that was almost devoured by a big crowd of children & their parents, and they just couldn't get enough of it!!! This unit is not as big as the one that I had 35 years ago, but it still does the job! It can easily accommodate up to 7 qt-size Mason jars in each canning process, has buit-in safety features to make it completely safe to use and has a pressure guage to let you know the cooking / canning pressure at all times during use, helping to eliminate the guess work has to how many pounds of pressure is in the unit at any given time!! Saftey lock rises about the lid, which helps prevent the opening ot the unit while it is under pressure and give a visual reminder that there is still pressure inside the unit. Pressure release plug opens and releases pressure if unit becomes over pressurized. Pressure regulater sits on top of the vent pipe and gently rocks back & forth to help regulate pressure safely. Constructed of thick heavy-guaged aluminum for warp-free use. 12-year warranty on entire unit. ~Daquan13.

Presto is the way to go for your canning needs!

I am very committed to making and preserving most of the food that my family eats due to concerns for what the national brand companies are putting in our foods - by making and preserving my own, I can eliminate concerning ingredients. Thanks to the Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner, I have been able to can even more of the great foods from my garden and that I have made from scratch to enjoy with my family. This canner is incredibly easy to use and works great to get that tight seal on each jar like I so desire. I have tried a few other pressure canners that are on the market, and none seem to get as good of a seal as quickly and effieciently as the Presto Aluminum Canner does. What a great way to serve my family!

Great pressure canner!

We are a family of 8 so we do an awful lot of home canning to preserve our fruits and vegetables for winter. We also can a lot of meats. This is the main time that we use the pressure canner. It works beautifully to can our beef and chicken. When I first started using the pressure canner I was really scared. I always heard those stories of pressure canners blowing up and people getting injured. However, if you read the manual cover to cover before using it, you should be fine. You just need to be careful to keep all the parts cleaned and check them often for cracks and such. These canners do take a while to heat up and cool down so be prepared to can all day! But once you see all those jars lined up, it is well worth it!

I love my Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner!

**I recently purchased and absoutely adore my new sixteen quart Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner. I have recently started canning and I wanted a canner that was Made in the United States of America and there are only two canners on the market that have been around long enough to withstand the current economic troubles that are occuring and Presto is the cheaper of the two canner brands. The only downfall with the Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner is that it is not gasketless as the other canner that is made in the United States of America and therefore has a part that will need to be replaced every few years. I currently have two pressure canners and one water bath canner but I have not needed to replace the gasket on this Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner yet and my grandmother who has owned a Presto Aluminum Pressure Canner for the past fifteen years and who cans approximately one to two hundred jars per year only has to replace her gaskets once every five or so years, so over the life of the canner it is still cheaper to buy and use than the other canners on the market today.**

The Presto Pressure Canner - speeds things up

I'm new to pressure canning but have been using a water bath canner for years. At first I was nervous using a pressure canner but it's really not as scary as it sounds. The first thing I canned was chicken and after doing a pick of price comparing, even with the price of the canner and new jars I've still already come out ahead and the chicken tastes so much better (no metal can taste). I'm ready to move on now. I have plans to can chili, tomato sauce, salsa and I may even try some of the fruits that I would normally can in a water bath. The pressure canner is just so much more convenient because it is so much bigger. I like that the Presto canner is aluminum it's lighter and easier for me to use and easier on my stovetop. My grandma used a Presto for years so that was the reason I originally bought one, that and my dad, the ultimate gardner recommend it. He has actually used his a lot more than I have but he shares!

Best Pressure Canner out there

I got this canner this spring, it has been a long time wish. I needed a canner that would work on my flat top stove and not damage it, but work well enough to can food. I use this canner mostly for canning chicken and it does a wonderful job. It is very versitile you can pressure can jars of food, use it to quick cook meats, act as a large stock pot as well as it is deep enough you can water bath can in it as well. It isn't too heavy to move when it is full. The locks work well and the pressure gauge is nice to have. The rubber seals are easy to clean and are very durable. The canner really helps me to provide great food at a better value for my family.

A must if you are serious about canning

I just got this Pressure canner for my birthday and i've been canning apple sauce little a maniac. This canner definately saves a lot of time and energy. If i were to do a water bath with my pots i would only be able to do 3 quarts at a time. This way i am able to do 7 quarts at a time. Just thinking about this canner makes me so excited. I got a smoking deal on it aswell. A deal i found for my mom in giving it to me for my birthday. This canner is super easy to use and it is really easy to clean. the only thing that i struggle with is that when it's full i have a really hard time lugging it around my kitchen, but i think that is a user technicality. This canner comes with a rack so you don't have to go and buy one. What's so great about using this pressure cooker canner aswell is that once you invest the money in this product the only other thing you have to buy maybe every few years, depending on how much you use it, is the black rubber ring.
