Most HelpfulI love to spoil my cats, and so I purchased a Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain for them, in the hopes that they would drink the flowing water more frequently than the still water in their bowl. Having owned male cats for most of my life, I know that the more hydrated they are, the less likely they...

Most HelpfulHello All,
I bought this fountain because my two cats enjoy drinking out of the faucet. High water consumption is very important for feline health as many cats can develop kidney and urinary issues. My cats really loved it and had no trouble adjusting to it. The fountain was easy to assemble out of...
When I first adopted my cat (a little over a year ago) I just had a regular water bowl for her. I didn't even know water fountains existed.
It didn't take long for me to discover that my cat hated drinking standing water. Whenever she could, she'd drink running running water from the sink or shower. She wasn't afraid of getting soaked by the shower to get that drink. I was worried that she wasn't getting enough water, so I started looking for alternatives.
I went with Petmate's fountain because it happened to be one of the rewards for my credit card. When it arrived, I hooked it up right...
review »What inspired me to get a cat drinking fountain was the fact that my cat would jump up onto the countertop and follow me into the bathroom only to "meow" at the faucet. I'd turn on the sink only for it to be too much or too little stream of water for my cat to drink... she's picky. One time I even left the house with the faucet running for the cat! Opps. Eversince I got my cat fountain she no longer "begs" for me to turn on the faucet.
For the past year I have had a cat drinking fountain. I first purchased one at the pet store that had a "bubble" top where the water flowed over the top of the...
review »Petmate pet fountain - it really IS a great idea... in theory. We really want to believe in this product, but we are already looking into the third model replacement at this time.
First major con: Too bad the product's made of overpriced cheap plastic. Parts warp shape by third and fourth dishwashing,
Second major con: It is also incredibly high-maintenance! Taking apart and washing the fountain every day, drying it and putting it back together again is a 20 minute waste of time every day - but we did do this for awhile because our cats truly did drink more water from the fountain.
Third major...
review »The Petmate Fresh Flow Fountain rocks! Keeps the water aerated so the cats drink more water. This is especially advantageous for keeping male cats from getting the dreaded urinary tract problems that they can be prone to as they age.
The fountain does require routine cleaning (how often depends on how many cats are drinking out of it), but it is easy to clean - takes about 10 to 15 minutes including taking the water pump apart to clean. One filter lasts a month with just one cat - if you have more than one cat, you will have to change the filter more frequently. I have 10 cats so my filters...
review »I heard a vet talk about the benefits of pet water fountains on a radio show and I knew my cat had to have one. Our cat was jumping up on the counter every time we turned to faucet on to get a glass of water and had her own cup on the counter...she was also drinking from the toliet. I looked at the pet stores and the fountains were expensive (around $40). But I found an off color one at Big Lots for $15. My cat loves it!! She drinks from it constantly and no longer annoys us at the kitchen sink. The water supply lasts about 2 days for her...so I actually change it less than I changed...
review »I LOVE this Petmate water fountain! Extremely quiet, super EASY to clean and refill and you can find them in adorable colors! (Mine is pink.) The price is a little high ($30+ for a small one), but I've had mine for 3+ years and not a single problem. Worth every dollar. You can find them @ Petco, Petsmart, and other Pet Supplies Retailers. Definitely would purchase another one if in the market for one.
