IntroThe first time I had Pergo laminated flooring installed in my home, it was the new thing, and I had already fallen in love with the Pergo my sister had installed in her home. It is the simplest thing to take care of, as all that's needed is a broom or swiffer and either a mop or sponge to wipe it clean. Plus, back then, it looked very realistic, and actually looked like a real hardwood floor. We self-installed it in our living room, and even though we were told by some it would be too loud, and others it would be too difficult, also on our stairs. It's definitely not too loud.                    I found Pergo flooring a few years ago and I absolutely love it. I  can not tell you how much I love it because you would have to know the floors I have been through. First vinyl, nice to look at for about a year then it started to look dingy. Tried to wash it , wax it, whatever...still dingy. Then came the tear. Never tear a hole in your vinyl, it really never repairs with a " patch".

Pergo Prestige is to be avoided

I purchased Pergo Prestige in Cottage Maple from the Home Depot online site. My first clue that this would be a bad experience came when I ordered a sample of the finish from Pergo, because this finish is not carried in HD stores.  I was charged by Pergo immediately for the sample but, after three weeks and no sample, I contacted Pergo to find out the samples were out of stock and would not be available for 10 weeks. I asked them to reverse the charge on my credit card which they did. Like an idiot, I took a chance and ordered the Cottage Maple finish, site unseen. The floor was easy to install and my wife loves being able to "dust" the floor. Buy it today. I went to the local home improvement store, picked out the color and type I wanted and bought it. I loaded in into my wifes truck, carried it home and brought it inside. You need to wait a day so it can acclimate to the temperature inside the house, that way it won't bow. The next day, I got my saw hammer out and went to work. I had my kids help and we put that floor down in a day. My wife used to have to scrub the tile floor we had in the kitchen. Now all she does is get out the swiffer and dust away. What a pleasure.

I have Pergo Laminated Flooring Throughout my recently renovated two story colonial house.  I have the Pergo Presto Beige Tumbled Marble Laminate Flooring in my kitchen.  It is beautiful and durable.  I got it at Home Depot, and at about $3.00 per square foot, I personally feel that it is a steal.  The rest of my house is laid out in the Pergo Prestige Potomac Hickory Laminate Flooring.  Pergo does it once again!! Pergo Presto less than quality product.  I recently had water damage to my pergo floor that I had installed approx 8 years ago.  Beacuse of the excellent performance and wear that I experienced with Pergo I was unwilling to change to another product.  I had Pergo Presto professionally installed 6 DAYS ago and it looks like complete crap.  The finish is very hazy on some planks (probably a manufactoring defect) and it shows up in almost any light.  I contacted pergo and they suggested replacing the hazy sections but would not cover them under any type of warranty.  6 DAYS OLD there are so many scratches in this flooring it is unacceptable.  I have no pe...

the finish is not very durable.my pets (cats) still have their nails and the surface is scratched from them running around on the floor.They also have had their hairball episodes on the floor and since I work this has also taken the finish off  in spots only after a few years on a surface that was suppose to last 20 years.

My husband and I rmoved all the carpeting out of our home because of allergies.  We put the Pergo floors down in living room, and 2 bedrooms.  It is beautiful, easy to care for and was fun to put down.  A very good value for the money.

I have had a Pergo floor since it first came out.  It is nearly indestructable.  You can drop an axe, a hammer, an entire appliance on it without a scratch.  Your lawn furniture can winter on it, leaving behind a rust stain that cleans right up.  But don't get any water in the joints.  The particle wood under the laminate surface will swell right up, destroying the beauty of the flooring.  This even means a moist sponge mop used to clean.  The Pergo cleaner is great, but too expensive to use to clean a floor that is nearly 400 square feet, as it comes in a Windex-sized bottle.

I love the beauty and texture of real wood, but even in a small room, the cost was prohibative. I searched and compared fake wood for months but couldn't find anything that looked real enough without being a real pain to maintain. When I found the Pergo, I was torn between the shades. All looked so real and had just enough texturing so that the look & feel were natural, but wasn't done so deeply that it would be impossible to keep clean. And I don't have to buy any special cleaners!

I had Pergo on my previous house from 2001 - 2005 and it was great! So I decided to install it on my new house in 2005. I did it thru Home Depot. I cost me $4,000 between labor and materials. A month ago I saw some small white spots in my room. I also noticed a few planks were decolorizing. But I also noticed (and this was what scared me the most) there were some waves in the floor and that was in several parts of the house. So I called Home Depot and they sent an inspector to see my floor. He came with his wife and she did some testing on the floor with a small machine and they told me the moisture was high.
