Pepto Bismol is seriously my wonder drug. I have GERD and IBS so I constantly have issues with my stomach/intestines. I keep at least 3 bottles of this amazing concoction in my house at all times, one in my car, and one at work. Even though I'm on medication I still reach for the Pepto at least once every couple of weeks. Not only does it help with the reflux, it's one of the ONLY things that helps with the cramping and discomfort that comes with IBS. Effectiveness Diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, reflux....this stuff treats it all, and it works. One dose after the onset of diarrhea and it starts working. Whenever I'm having severe stomach cramps due to IBS I'll take a shot and within thirty minutes I'm feeling better, maybe not 100% but definitely better. Ease of Use Pour in the little cup, drink. How much easier does it get? I love the flavor of Pepto, reminds me of little conversation hearts, so I don't have any issues swallowing it. Immediacy Usually start to feel a difference in about thirty minutes. I'm good with that!

Ever since I was a small child I have had stomache and digestive issues and only recently was truly introduced to Pepto-Bismol.  In the past other upset stomach liquids were used, all off-brands and ithey were terrible, sometimes they would work but only if I was able to wash it down with something because so often the taste was terrible; however, sometimes those brands would make my stomache feel worse.  Pepto-Bismol not only tastes better than most any other stomach medicine, but it also works better than any other I have tried. Pepto-Bismol is such a trusted name and that is so for a reason, Pepto-Bismol works!  One thing to point out is that not much, if any difference exists in the different Pepto-Bismol. Many of them have the same ingredients in the same amount, so check that before paying any extra for a "new" or "better" Pepto-Bismol.

I used to have an iron stomach and could eat anything I wanted without worrying about how it would affect me later.  We'll I'm 37 now and that is no longer the case.  it seems my stomach gets angry with me every time I eat anything the slightest greasy or spicy.  But thank god there is pepto bismol.  I usually don't feel the effects of my food until I lay down for bed.  When I feel that I may be up all night with an upset stomach I run for the bathroom and take some Pepto Bismol.  WIth in 10-15 minutes I'm feeling better and sleep like a baby.  If I don't take it (as I tried not to in the past) I am up all night with stomach issues.  Uncomfortable pain and acidic feeling.  I prefer the liquid over the tablets because I feel like it coats everything, but I haven't tried the tablets to say they wouldn't work.  In theory to me, the liquid is the way to go so I stick with it.  I don't mind the taste because it does the work I need it to do so that I can sleep and be comfortable.  I love Pepto Bismol.

Pepto Bismol (Bismuth Subsalicylates) is a wonderful product to treat diarrhea and stomach indigestion. I always pack myself a bottle when I went backpack to foreign countries in anticipation of travelers diarrhea. It's very quick acting and I usually find relief in about 30 minutes to about an hour. Usually your diarrhea should go away, but if it continues for more than 48 hours then it is recommended to see a primary care provider. I also use it sometimes for heartburn or indigestion if I run out of tums. It had decent acid neutralization capacity, but not as great as tums. Usually if I eat spicy, acidic, or greasy food, this helps me if I pre-emptively take it before I eat the food. The only downside is that it can make your stool and tongue turn black, but don't be alarm, those are harmless side effects. Also I really hate the taste, and I cannot stand things in pink, so those are the only cons!

Pepto Bismol Max is the 2x strength version of regular pepto. Seems like the exact same formula as regular strength and just about does the same thing- just with half of the volume. Relieves stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn and nausea. Taste is a little rough- looks like it would taste like bubblegum, but its pretty much ground up sidewalk chalk. If you've got nausea, the taste may not complement your quick recovery... Also works well for IBS and if you've had a few too many drinks the night before (if you can keep everything down.) The liquid form coats the stomach fairly well. Tums work just about as well for indigestion, but for everything else, Pepto is definitely the best OTC medicine that I've ever found. Plus, the bottle is only a couple of bucks. Can't beat the price!  I'd actually recommend the Pepto-Bismol cherry chew tablets- they do just about the same thing- only better. Minus the nasty chalkiness!

              When I was young we as kids never worried about why our stomach or head hurt orthings like that we just went to our mom and she took care of it for us. Well I was lucky enough not to get sick allthe time and watched the others get sick a whole lot. Even when you were you tried not to be because of some of the things you had to take. Later on that changed to some degree. Some of the food I ate was rough on my stomach and I had to take medicine for indigestion or heartburn.               Well mom always gave us the old Pepto Bismol to drink and we were better soon after that and we just went right back to play or other things. After I went over seas I came back from eating the foods they had and in two years I went in the hospital for ulcers. They gave me a drug that had just been put out called Tagamet and it still did not fix me up. They gave me antacids to drink but the only one that worked was Pepto Bismol.              Later on doctors found out about Gerd and now all I have to do is take a drink of Pepto Bismol and it takes care of me. So actually the old remedy has done well and it takes care of 5 things 1. Heartburn 2. Indigestion 3. Upset Stomach 4. Nausea 5. Diarrhea. That is a lot compared to what the others won't do that make that claim. Now you can get chewable tablets that work well if you are on the go so you should check it out it really works.
