I used to use the Pantene breakage defense/frizz control ultra smoothing balm religiously as I have really long medium to thick hair that tends to get frizzy when I blow dry it. The ultra smoothing balm definitely does the job if you're looking for frizz control. However, the ultra smoothing balm definitely leaves your hands feeling greasy and it's hard to wash off that greasy feeling. When Pantene revamped their line, I had a hard time finding the ultra smoothing balm in the store so I ended up trying their medium-thick hair style straighten & smooth creme. What a difference!! In addition to frizz control, the straighten & smooth creme leaves my hair feeling silky soft - something the ultra smoothing balm didn't do. If you are looking for a frizz control product for straight hair, I would definitely recommend using the hair styling creme over the ultra smoothing balm.

I have straight fine hair.  I deal with flyaways on a daily basis and needed something to help keep hairs on the top of my head smoother and keep them down.  I've tried various types of products like gels and mousses but they always seem to leave my hair looking oily or stiff.  Since I already use other Pantene products like their Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Detangler and Hairspray I thought why not try this product?  I started used it and it does works okay.  It leaves my hair smooth and flexible and not stiff or sticky.  I've also accidently used too much only to have it turn sticky and stiff in my hair.  The product also gets approval from the husband because I caught him using the product for his cow lick. I haven't tried other products out there for the same solution because this one is okay.  There are several cons, It's a bit pricey and there have been times when I can't find the product.  There should be a larger bottle available.

I used this Pantene breakage defense/frizz control balm ultra smoothing before. I read some review and i thought it 's a great product but maybe it 's depend on people 's hair. It 's not help my hair much like I want. I have a feeling of dirty in my hair when I was using this item. I don't know what cause or just my feeling, that 's the feeling of the hair was not cleaned yet.I just want to go to wash my hair right after using this product. However, it did help control the hair being frizz like it said. My friend also used this item and she said it is ok but it make her hair absorb dirt faster too. And she like the smell of it but not me, maybe it 's not the right the product for me.I am using Pantene shampoo and Pantene conditioner now too but I don't like Pantene stylist product. If I am not wrong Pantene has a new look for this item may be I will try it out to see what 's the different.

I tried this product after my roommate had suggested it to me, and after I had found an amazing deal on it.  My hair is damaged and frizzy so I decided to give it a try.  I applied it after I towel dried my hair.  I used two full pumps of the product as my roommate suggested and started to dry my hair.  I noticed it took me a long time to dry my hair, because the product made it sticky.  I also had to use a brush and couldn't just use my hands to blow dry my hair, which I sometimes do when it is almost all dry.  I tried to do this, but my hands got stuck in my hair and pulled it uncomfortably.  Using the brush isn't that big of a deal, it was just the stickiness that was the problem, but when my hair was absolutely completely dry, the stickiness went away and I ended up with smooth hair.  The hair near my roots looked amazing until about my ears when the product couldn't really do anything about the damage. Therefore, the product can't make damaged hair look that great but healthy hair it will make look awesome! I would recommend this product, just don't use two full pumps so your hair doesn't get as sticky as mine did, but even if you want to use that much, the stickiness goes away.  This product definitely isn't a miracle worker, the humidity still will do a number on your hair, and it doesn't cut out all the frizziness that develops over the day.  It is an okay product that I will use until it is gone, but probably wouldn't buy again.

After I had my first child, my hair changed texture. It went from very smooth and easy to style to very curly and frizzy and difficult to style. And all the frizz and curliness was found only on the back of my head! I tried all sorts of smoothing serums by many different brands. I love Pantene's Frizz Control formula in this skinny bottle (it is the perfect size for traveling too). Not only does my hair have less frizz, this balm also is very easy to apply. It's not too gloppy or thick. It smells wonderful too! It is easy to work through my hair and doesn't clump. I have found that I have even more success when I pair this smoothing balm with the Pantene Smooth Conditioner and Shampoo. What a great combination! Pantene products are the only ones that successfully control the amount of frizz I have! All in all, I'm a believer. This smoothing balm works wonders and calms even the most unruly frizz!

I bought this product a few weeks ago as I had a coupon and I was able to get it very reasonably.  I figured it was worth a try as I am always looking for products to help calm my flyaways and living in a very humid area, I wanted something to help with frizzy hair too. This product does just what I hoped it would.  I usually go to bed with my hair wet, so I put this in right after my shower, when my hair is still damp.  When I get up in the morning my hair honestly doesn't need much work.  The Pantene Ultra Smoothing works quite well and my hair is laying flat and doesn't have weird waves and things it would normally have if I hadn't put the product in.  I feel that it holds really well as the day goes on as well.  The Pantene Ultra Smoothing Balm doesn't make my hair look greasy.  You also don't need to use much, as a little bit goes a long way.  I would definitely recommend this product.
