Ok, so I cook rice all the time. I used to cook it in a conventional pot. But, as always, the water would bubble over, and the rice would stick to the bottom of the pan. I never cooked rice often because of the hassle it seemed to cause. Not only did it dirty my kitchen, but it delayed my dishwashing too! I love the taste of rice, but it was not worth the clean-up.

read full review »Works just fine. It's simple and basic, and good for cooking small quantities of rice. Just right for 2, or maybe up to 4, people. The non-stick coating makes for easy cleanup. And since it doesn't have a "warm" feature, there's even less chance of rice sticking to the bottom. The warm feature isn't really needed, since one is likely to use up what's been cooked during one's meal, before the rice gets cold.
Sometimes, while cooking, the rice water will foam up and sputter out the side.
Well, some varieties of rice DO create more foam than others.
I don't think foaming is the fault of the rice cooker;...
I adore this little rice cooker! For the price, it has been great to have. I bought it three years ago for college, and I've come to appreciate how many uses it has. In addition to making rice (any kind you want), I also use mine to cook pasta, hardboil eggs, reheat food, even boil water for tea! I use mine at least once a day, to make my breakfast.
It's held up wonderfully for how little I paid for it. That being said, I would like to buy a better one when I can afford it. This one was cheap (I paid around $20), and it shows it. The bowl is very thing (so the rice burns more quickly). The contents...
