This is a great combo!  Fridge: I love the glass shelves that I can see through to different areas of the fride; I love the deep sheves on the doors to accomdate a full gallon of milk.  I love that the door shelves are adjustable.  I don't love how wide you have to open the door in order to fit something big (like a pizza) in the fridge.  As time has worn on, the shelves on the door seem to come loose and almost fall out (if you don't push them back in). And the fruit drawer is also breaking (plastic seems cheap).  Freezer:  I always wanted a side-by-side so that I would have more room and not have to dig to find things in the back.  I still have to dig.  And you can't get large things into the freezer (like a huge pizza).  Thankfully we have a full size freezer in the garage now for big things; so this works just fine for us now.  There is a protective plastic strip on the glass shelves that constantly comes off.  (annoying, not any more problematic than that) Love the ice dispenser, although I often have to loosen some ice off of the parts above (which jams the machine)

The Maytag side by side refrigerator freezer is a wonderful performer.  The Model MSD2454GR has a filter and a light that comes on once a year to remind you to change the filter.  It also has water/ice dispenser which I love.  It will dispense cubes as well as crushed ice.  Each feature has a light to indicate which freature is on, you don't get water when you want ice, etc.  The freezer is totally frost free, and cleaned by just wiping down the inside with water.  The refrigerator area has a snack drawer, a meat drawer and a vegetable bin as well as 3 shelves.  Each have temperature control features.  There is also a built in egg holder.  The doors on both the freezer and refrigerator are very roomy and make lots of extra storage space.  The only drawback on the Maytag side by side is it is real big and requires a large space, yet the inside is not as roomy as I would like.  It doesn't accomodate large items like a big turkey if you have anything else in the freezer or refrigerator, without moving shelves around.  Otherwise, It is great.  Mine is 6 years old and I have never had any problems.
