I've had this rice cooker for a few years now and I love it. I bought it on sale when I was in my sushi phase, but I still use it today even though I don't make sushi anymore. This is a simple to understand machine. You pull it in and it turns on automatically. There are two options with the switch, cook or warm. The cook button is for when you cook rice and after it's done it will automatically switch to warm. Therefore, it will keep your cooked rice warm until you're ready to use it. It usually takes around 30 minutes to fully cook the rice. It comes out perfect every time. HOever, my rice tends to stick to the bottom. Some ideas, I'm not putting enough water in, and I might need to wash the rice beforehand. The steamer option is amazing with this! Just put some water in the bowl, set for cook so it boils or steams and then put the steam portion on top. Place our vegetables in the steamer and check up of the veggies every so often until done. It's perfect! It keeps the nurtrients inside the vegetables and it's easier then trying to steam them with a normal pot and contration (especially if you don't have one). All and all, I love this thing. And after all these years it's still working perfectly!

My husband and I cook dinners for two at home at least 4 nights a week and we use this at least 3 times a week. We've actually used it more for steaming veggies than rice. Cooking rice is tricky for me. I always end up getting the water to rice ratio wrong. This rice cooker made it incredibly simple to use and the rice turns out perfectly every time. Dump in the indicated amount of water and rice, hit one button and just let it go. As far as using the steamer goes, we put in the water and dump frozen veggies in the basket and they come out fresh and delicious. We've been very happy with the product, but it's not big enough to make enough veggies for more than 2 adult servings. I wish the steamer basket sat more securely on top of the water container. I also wish that the water/rice container was easier to clean. It seems like a layer of rice is always glued to the bottom after you use it.

I love this rice cooker! It's the first one I've ever owned. I got it as a wedding gift and almost took it back, thinking it would be a nuisance and take up too much room in my cupboards. But no! It was definitely worth keeping because it makes cooking rice so easy! I have never been good at cooking rice on the stove....how long do you cook it, how much water do you really need, how hot, the water is going too fast, the rice is not cooked enough, the rice is burning.....I mean, really, it's not worth the hastle! Get this rice maker! I also suggest using 2 cups of rice and 3 3/4 cups of water, not the amount they recommend in the book that comes with it. This will make the perfect amount of rice that the cooker can handle, enough for four people, and it will cook the rice to perfection. When I used the amount recommended (less water), it turned out too dry. This rice cooker also comes with a steamer for vegetables.
