Logitech Marble Mouse would get 5 stars if it scrolled

The Logitech marble mouse is easy to use and very comfortable. I t requires minimal desk space technically no desk space at all since you can rest it on your leg and works as well as if it were on a flat surface. I first purchased this product for online MMORPG gaming which often runs on click - click - click harvesting and collecting based leveling systems. It was fun at the time and this mouse made my game palying much more enjoyable and reduced the wrist pain inherent with such repaeated mouse usage for hours at a time. ( i was recovering from an injury. there wasn't much to do.) The mouse is large enough to rest your hand over the whole thing comfortably, using one or two fingers to guide the large smooth trackball, your thumb to left click and any other finger to right click. I used it for a few months and was very happy with it before drifting away from online gaming and putting the mouse away for future use. About a year later my sister asked me if i had a mouse she could use and I dug this one out and gave it to her and her 3 boys. I mention my nephews because, as anyone who has boys can testify, they are capable of breaking just about anything. I swear if i gave them an anvil, they would call me a week later asking if I knew how to fix it. They have had the mouse for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. I have never been asked to repair it.  Everyone loves it and they complain mightily when they have to use an "ordinary" mouse. The kids do some pc gaming and they absolutely love it. One con: no scroll. It amazes me however, that so few people ever actually use scroll, so this may not be an issue for you.

The Logitech Marble Mouse is My Favorite Pointing Device

4

I bought my first Logitech marble mouse many years ago and have not looked back.  I prefer a trackball to a standard mouse, and also being left handed it is hard for me to find a mouse design that I feel comfortable using. My hand never seems to get tired even after hours of use.  The attached wire connecting to the USB is very long and allows me to move away from my PC when I want to relax away from the keyboard.   I have dropped the device many times with the marble ball rolling across the floor, and had the product perform without a hitch.  It doesn't ever seem to hang or get stuck and the response time is fine for me.  Even when I play action video games.   I like the simple style of the design.  It isn't flashy, but it doesn't need to be.   I do wish there was some sort of mouse wheel at the front, but there is nothing I can do about that.   I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Easy trackball for first-timers coming from a regular mouse

**A great trackball to make the switch from a mouse** Because of the way you drap your hand on this trackball, it feels very familier and natural for mice users. But, unlike mice, this requires no side-to-side movements of the wrist and therefore, is SO MUCH BETTER on your hands, wrists and arms. About five years ago, I was having all kinds of problems with my wrist. I looked up some info and picked up one of these. It was the best - and most inexpensive! - solution. Though it does have a slightl learning curve, it's really a lot less then you'd think. It's very comfortable and right away I noticed that my wrists never hurt anymore. I used this trackball happily at both home and work for five years (it lasted that long as well before it finally started to wear out). This year, I decided to upgrade to the slightly more complex Cordless Optical Trackman, but the Marble Mouse is still a GREAT input device. * It's small, doesn't take up desk space and doesn't require a mouse pad. * It's optical, so the ball is lightweight and sails easily with the slightest touch of your fingers. (You can control with software the speed of the cursor if you don't want it to move quite as zippy as perhaps I like it to go). * It's a very logical step up from a normal mouse and still gives the benefits of being ergonomic and comfortable. * It's a great laptop addition since it can be used on a lap or other small surface without the problems of a mouse. * It also has the benefit of being 100% right OR LEFT HAND usable. It's utterly neutral and can be used by either. I've always liked Logitech's trackballs and find them to be far superior to other ones on the market. I prefer the finger-controlled ball rather then the thumb-controlled ball since the thumb one caused a LOT of fatigue and actual pain in my thumb. It wasn't nearly as natural as this one is. Try it, give it a few days and you'll wonder how you ever got by with a regular mouse.

Saves desk space

This mouse is one of the easiest ones on the market. We have a small space for our pc so this mouse did it's job. NP. the only thing that I don't like is that the ball can be removed by my 3yr. other than that I would recomend it to everyone..

No pad or extra space needed for this Marble Mouse

**I was so tired of using a mouse pad and running off the edge, I decided to try the Logitech Marble Mouse. What a fantastic product it is! I threw away my mouse pad and no longer need to make room on my computer desk for it. The Logitech Marble Mouse is so easy to use, just remember to periodically pull the ball out and clean the points with a toothbrush or something soft. Great product from Logitech! Yes, it is a wired mouse, but the ease of use makes that no problem at all. Highly recommended!**

Durable and saves from carpal tunnel syndrome

I consider Logitech Marble Trackball a life-saver, since long hours of working at the computer can become truly debilitating on the wrists and fingers. WIth Logitech Marble Trackball I no longer had to do unnecessary movements on the mousepad directing a traditional mousing, just to work the cursor on the screen. All the double-, triple-clicking and dragging over time, can really be counter-productive when they are wasted motion compared to what much smaller movements on the trackball can produce -- all with minimal taxation on the wrist and fingers. Although I am on my second unit now (the first only ruined by a cup of coffee - so they're really durable even with factory-refurbished models!), the "palm grip" area takes some adjustment, since it's in a cup/domed shape that doesn't feel especially ergonomic (or perhaps the mold was created based on a longer, larger hand on a taller person?) Still, it's the least awkward trackball I've used, within this affordable price range.

its the best mouse ive ever had.  as a batter of fact i got recently a new one and the ball is on the side instead of the middle and i hate it lol.  im definiitely going to buy this one again soon.  i have trouble with pain in my hands due to fibromyalgia and this is the best for non pain mousing.

Logitech Trackball Mouse I originally wanted a mouse that I didn't have to use on my desktop.  I supervise and help other people while they are using a computer.  Occasionally if they make a mistake I need to take over and fix it.  I was using an optical mouse and we were passing it back and forth and it was awkward.  I considered a wireless mouse but I spend so much time on the computer I didn't like the idea of the battery usage both for expense and environmental reasons. Someone suggested a trackball mouse as a good alternative because I could use it anywhere, the arm of a chair, my lap, whatever.  So I bought this mouse and plugged it into the port at the back of my computer and the optical mouse into a usb port on the front of my tower and it worked great.  I could sit behind the person I was helping and if they had a problem I could quickly fix it with this mouse without them having to move or hand me the mouse and me having to find a flat surface to use it.  Also I could set the optical mouse to a slow speed for the newbie users without frustrating myself. The only complaint I have is that its really weird to go back and forth between a standard mouse and a trackball mouse.  I sometimes find myself picking up the trackball mouse to change poisition like a would a regular mouse. I also found the trackball hard to use when you have to mark little areas on your screen such as when you fill out surveys or any form with little boxes.

Better than mouse but havok on knuckles and finger joints.

I bought this trackball after I suffered severe shoulder injuries from using a mouse. It's great for short time use, but since I work sometimes in a span of over 10 hours, my knuckes started to get sore. The positioning of that your hand is forced to take is quite terrible. Since the palm and wrist is at a lower position than your knuckles and fingers, your fingers tire easily. The only way to combat that was to raise my wrist up in the air, kind of like mimicing playing the piano. But that would tire out my elbow. Another solution was that I used a lot of foamy double sided tape to build a 2 inch cushion at the base of the trackball so my wrist would rest hire than my fingers. Due to severe pain in my fingers, I ended up purchasing the Logitech Wireless Track Ball M570.  I've only had it for a couple of days but my finger pain resided and I find it MUCH better than the Marble. It's quite an investment, but if you work as much as I do, it's worth it. Plus the extra buttons such as scroll and back and forward buttons are great! I wish I bought the M570 before the Marble. Pro: Good for the price, better than mouse Con: extreme finger joint pain due to the bad ergonomic of the wrists and palm. Lack of additional buttons

I cant say i'm much into these sort of mice, but I had on several occasions had the oppurtunity to use this specific model on a friends desktop, experiance is wierd, it takes a bit of time getting use to it and even afterwards you cant help thinkin, why not just get a normal bloody mouse instead of this ball thingy, but hey some ppl like it and I cant say I saw anything bad with it.
