Fantastic basic wireless mouse

5

While not the best for gaming, and can cause to some mild wrist discomfort over an extended amount of time, overall this is a great wireless mouse with a tremendous battery life and the neat feature to allow the scrolling wheel to fly...spinning through long pages in a snap! Performance For every day use, there is absolutely no reason to get anything with a higher DPI than this mouse. So for most people, this is a phenomenal mouse. With gaming, or anything else that needs a lot of precision, I would recommend sticking with a wired mouse with a higher DPI. I would also suggest for anyone to learn how to turn off the mouse smoothing...it is terrible in gaming, and just comes off feeling strange in all uses (this is in general for ANY mouse, not just the m705) Durability The mouse has a nice heft to it, and has been knocked off of my desk repeatedly by infants and cats, without any adverse effect to it. Design It is simply a basic, standard black mouse design without too many bells and whistles. The aforementioned spinning wheel is nice, and it also contains three side thumb buttons that come in handy in a variety of applications. The default for the lower thumb button allows you to switch between windows in either Windows 7 or Windows 8 in a breeze, which can be nice. Comfort Without a wrist pad, this mouse starts out fairly comfortably, but something in the design over time caused a lot of discomfort to my wrist. With a nice gel wrist pad, this almost entirely went away, but it is something to take into consideration.

Long battery life, reliable, plenty of features

4

I like the long battery life of 3 years. So far I have not needed to put new batteries in, in fact, if it does get low, I just find a set of used batteries and it keeps on working. Also have a nice back and forward feature for browsing website pages with. I also like that you can unlock the wheel mouse so it doesn't click, very handy when needing to scroll down a page quickly. Performance I could easily give it a 10, but I do try and be reasonable. Durability Haven't had an issue with it. Seems a tad flimsy but it hasn't broke even if I gets tossed to eh floor. By accident of course from just being careless on my part. Design Buttons placed well, good grip, over all pleasing and was an easy transition from the Logitech G7 after it had died. Comfort Same as the design, they go hand in hand, literally.

Best Mouse Ever

5

Logitech makes the best computer mice, hands down. The cordless feature is great. No more kinks to worry about. The footprint of the wireless receiver is tiny. It fits neatly into the port and stays put better than other wireless brands. Performance I have been using this thing constantly, and never turn it off. In two months I have not had to replace the batteries at all! Durability If I had a penny for every time I dropped this mouse I would be a rich kitten. My grandbaby cannot keep her hands off it, and the Logitech works perfectly. Design It looks sleek and cool. There is a vented vinyl insert in the contour that is very comfortable on your thumbs. Comfort €rgonomic should be Logitech's middle name! The intuitive design makes it easier to scroll, page forward and back, making your keyboards requirements a lot less.

A Great Mouse With Long Battery Life

5

Logitech is frequently the brand we turn to for basic computer accessories, so when my old wireless mouse died I focused on looking within the Logitech line of products. I was interested in the M705 model because of its unique design. The shape really is ergonomic and comfortable to use as a right-hander. There are two customizable buttons on the 'thumb' side of the mouse, which I programmed as very convenient volume controls. The scroll wheel is a basic feature for me, and this one works very well. It is neat that you can 'turn off' the clicking noise the wheel makes. The most useful feature of the M705, especially as compared to my previous mouse, is the battery life. I have yet to change the batteries I first put in, and that was long enough ago that I cannot remember when I purchased it. That is with very, very frequent use on a daily basis, and the mouse settings window even claims there is still about 190 days' worth of battery left in them. Amazing and useful!

A really nice feel to it

5

I got this mouse at a deal. I didn't want to spend too much for a mouse, seeing as my old wired mouse was doing just fine, but I went for it.... I love this mouse. It's not like the recent "touch mice" but it has an excellent feel to it. The way it's designed, my hand feels pretty rested, especially my thing. The material where my thumb is placed is a soft rubbery feeling, that, well feels nice. There is the backward / forward button, horizontal scrolling, and that hyper scrolling. In my opinion, that hyper scrolling is a bit pointless since it goes very fast (I'm too used to scrolling quickly), but with time I have gotten used to it, though I prefer the old method. Performance very good. hyper scrolling is suitable for some, can download logitech software. unifying software too so you can have one usb for up to 5 logitech unifying products. Durability pretty durable. battery life is great, I think it's 2 years battery life? Design very nice. very similar to the MX Performance mouse in design, but a bit smaller Comfort very comfortable. beats most mice, great "thumb" spot on the side

Logitech Wireless Marathon Mouse is really wonderful to use

Logitech Wireless Marathon Mouse M705 with 3-Year Battery Life...and that's about all it needs to say.  This is a mouse that works and works well.  Three year battery life means not leaving you hanging on a cold winter's night without a functional mouse because you forgot to buy batteries again! It was a huge asset when I loaned it to a friend who had shoulder surgery, leaving him with limited mobility in his arm.  It's seriously easy to use, everyone loves this mouse, from teens with their chats to people playing video games.  My son in law even went and bought one for their own use, and the idea that the one USB port can drive multiple wireless devices is ingenious...and a great saver of USB ports!  It's so nice to not have the batteries fail again and again, when it always seems like you just replaced them. This is THE wireless mouse for us.  It works consistently and easily without a lot of fuss.  I also love the idea that if I opt to get a wireless keyboard, it can also be driven from the same little gizmo in the USB port.

Decent wireless mouse with some reservations

3

I recently replaced my optical gaming mouse with this M705 wireless. It is my first wireless, and I am generally impressed with its capabilities. It fits fairly snug around the hand, though I wouldn't have minded a slightly larger mouse. However, if it was larger, i'm sure that many people would have complained that it would be too big to bring around. This one is of very light heft. It has two side buttons and a scroll wheel with some strange option that makes the scroll wheel convert from the standard clicking tactile scroll wheel to a free range no-resistance version. This is actually a pretty nice feature, especially for someone like me who regularly analyzes very large medical articles and guidelines that are over a hundred pages, as it allows you to scroll through quickly. My major reservation with this is that it is terrible with games that require fast movement. In Starcraft 2, the mouse will lock up when you give it too many actioons at a time, and I will lose precious seconds in the game. The receiver is close by too, so I am not sure what to say. Otherwise, it is perfect for regular use. I can be very far away and this will work on every surface i have tried it on - bed, table, my arm, etc.

legendary vx revolution just got upgraded!

5

This mouse is an upgrade from the legendary VX Revolution mouse from 2007, and I would say, it is well worth the upgrade. I love the fact that it uses the new Logitech unifying receiver and the pairing process is easier than ever. Some may argue that it still takes up an USB port, why not go with the mouse that has Bluetooth technology? The bluetooth generally drains the battery quicker and it suffers from interfering problem with the 2.4GHz wireless internet signal. (It depends on what device you're using) The form factor is pretty much the same with the VX Rev, however, it cut down the zoom toggle switch which I hardly ever use anyway. It added a hidden button around the thumb, though it's not always easy to press in my opinion. The reason they named the mouse as 'marathon' is probably because of the battery life. They touted the mouse can last you three years without a single charge. Due to its competitive pricing and fully-featured, I would recommend this mouse to anyone.

Best mouse i've ever had

5

This mouse is absolutely beset mouse i've ever had.  After going through a cheap pixxo mouse that used two AAA batteries, i was tired of changing the batteries every 3 months.  Then i saw this logitech mouse go on sale and could not be happier.  This mouse on two batteries lasts 3 years!! It is so much more convient to not have to change the battery every couple of months.  The mouse is of the perfect size for me and is small enough to take with me traveling.  THe mouse contains a small usb nano so that the usb stick doesn't get in the way of your laptop.  The mouse itself contains many features that you can even change.   The mouse has a very good scroll that you can press so that you can easily scroll down a page quickly.. It also contains a backwards and forward button that allows you to quickly browse the internet.  You also have the capibility to check the battery status on your computer and change the functions on your mouse

3 Years??? We'll see...

5

Wow, oh wow.  A mouse that will last me three years on a single battery with a nano receiver?  Sign me up!  I have signed up, and this looks/feels exactly like Logitech's VX Revolution mouse though the search button is a little more bouncy.  I really wonder if this mouse will last me three years, but I stand by Logitech's products, so I'm assuming it's valid.  It also utilizes Logitech's new unifying nano receiver which I believe allows you to connect up to six devices that support the unifying receiver.  Very impressive indeed.  I wonder how many people lose that receiver, because it's so tiny. Then again, how often do you take it in/out of the USB port?  The only thing missing is that tracking technology that is built into the Logitech MX Anywhere and Performance mice.  This mouse does not work that well on carpet and does not work at all on glass unless you place it on top of a mousepad.  Overall though, great mouse!
