Exceptional mouse!

5

Logitech's MX Revolution offers a plethora of features in one sculpted package.  Its wireless range is excellent - best I've ever used.  The scroll wheel automatically switches between "free" and "clicky" mode and is the perfect way to browse web pages.  The buttons are well placed and have several pre-programmed functions (which you can customize using Logitech's software).  It feels great in your hand, and is perfect for power users.

Possibly my favorite mouse

5

The Logitech MX Revolution has to be one of my favorite - or the favorite - mice that I've ever used. It has everything going for it. First, it feels good in the hand.I have big hands and the size of this mouse is just fine (even though it isn't ridiculously big). Second - it has lots and lots of buttons. It has the 5 usuals (left/right/middle/back/forward) plus a "search" button and another rocker wheel that has 3 movements: back/forward/push down. The Logitech software, while ugly, lets you remap keys pretty well and a third-party addon called uberOptions makes it even more flexible. I map "search" to minimize and the back/forward/push down to previous tab/next tab/close tab (Ctrl+Shift+Tab/Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+W) in browsers and other software. Every time I go to another computer I get annoyed at how much more effort it is to do that stuff manually now. Otherwise, the mouse is sturdy and I've been using it for years without any problems. The rechargeable battery is still holding up well, the charging cradle is decent quality and not too huge, and the dongle is small and easy to carry with you. If/when this breaks I'll definitely buy another.

Great Mouse

I have been a huge fan of Logitech mice for a long long time. They are very responsive, comfortable and work forever. I've owned 5 or 6 different Logitech mice over the years. The Revolution is the best one yet. It is extremely comfortable, has a fantastic scroll wheel. The scroll wheel when setup correctly will still have the light clicks as you scroll through, but if you spin it quickly it turns into a free spin which comes in really handy when you are trying to read through pages and pages of text or long website pages. The laser sensor on the mouse is very sensitve and plenty responsive enough to play with games. I still prefer a wired mouse like the G5 for games, but the Revolution will perform flawlessly. The extra scroll wheel near the thumb rarely gets used. I actually forgot it even existed until I took a closer look before writing this review. The thumb wheel can be used to switch between applications or scroll down pages in larger jumps than the standard scroll wheel.

The Ultimate Mouse

5

This is the best mouse I've ever used. I've tried over two dozen mice from varying mainstream and boutique brands such as Razer, Saitek, Steel, and of course Microsoft. They are usually quite gimmicky and not very comfortable. The MX Revolution is the most comfortable and also very programmable. The wheel is the "revolutionary" part in which you can choose standard click or free spin. At first it may seem useless, but I find it helps me find browse web pages much easier. There is also a separate wheel on the thumb side which I program to do page up and page down for even more accurate web page browsing. The middle button can be programed to do anything you want and isn't in an annoying place. The mouse features a rechargeable battery as it has a very high input rate, making it suitable for gaming vs other wireless mice. The battery generally lasts over a week. Just remember to recharge it! The grooves are all in the right place, and it just cradles your thumb. This mouse really just become an extension of your hand it's so comfortable. The Ultimate mouse!

The Logitech MX Revolution is a great mouse when it works

This mouse was used by me for 3-4 years before it finally decided to crap out. First the good: the battery life was amazing and the feel of the mouse is nothing that I had ever felt. It contours perfectly to the curves of my hand and the free spinning scroll was revolutionary (pun intended). Recently I started connecting to the internet via wireless connection and thats when the problems started. The mouse would stutter and stop every 5 to 10 seconds until I unplugged my wireless adapter. Then the contacts on the mouse which meets the charging base began to peel, causing it to not charge. I guess in the end, I can't really complain because it lasted so long. The rubber grip that they use also wears down with time. I can clearly see an indentation of where my thumb rests on the inside of the mouse. I have seen a couple of my friend's mice where the rubber was rubbed off to the plastic. For those with tight grips, I would recommend staying away from this mouse.
