I have owned this sewing machine for almost two years. In that time, I have made several dozen baby outfits in fabrics ranging from silk to cotton flannel, a quilt made entirely out of Minky polyester knits, sundresses, a project made using terry cloth towels, and four sets of floor to ceiling drapes with blackout lining, which is very heavy. This sewing machine has been reliable and I have not had very much trouble with it. I have had it cleaned professionally once in the last two years, which was definitely necessary but not unusual for any sewing machine that sees moderate to heavy use - the accumulated lint and fibers from the fabric can slow performance and damage the machine if not cleaned regularly. I was having a little issue with tension, but this was addressed by the technician when I had the machine cleaned. If this sewing machine has one flaw that can make me a little crazy, it is that it does tend to become unthreaded rather easily. It does struggle a bit with feed on heavy fabrics, but so has every similar machine that I have ever used. Overall, I would recommend it and would purchase it again.
