For my other children we have used a Fisher Price Healthy Care seat that hooks on to a regular chair and acts as a high chair and a booster seat.  We really loved those seats, and my five and three year old girls still sit in them.  However, with having our third child, we are out of seats at the dinner table to hook high chairs on to!  We needed a stand alone high chair for this baby.

I purposely chose the Ikea high chair because it is made of safe plastic.  I did not want other high chairs that have a soft padded vinyl seat because soft plastic is one of the worst things out there.  Not to mention the prices are outrageous when it comes to high chairs.

We have been very happy with this seat.  It is nice and lightweight, easy to clean up, and easy for baby to sit in.  At first we tucked a towel around her and that worked well.  The legs come off of the high chair in case you needed to travel with it or store it.  All around good high chair at a decent price.

Mama's happy, baby's happy!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This highchair was recommended by my mother and my sister, and I'm so glad they told me about it! You can get it for a fraction of the price of other high chairs, and in my opinion, it's better-looking and more functional than most other high chairs out there!

Pros:

You can even take off the tray and scoot it up to the table so baby feels more like she's part of the family.

It's ultra-light and ultra-portable.

Baby seems to love it. I will put her in the chair with a few toys while I cook dinner and do the dishes and she LOVES it..she only complains when she drops her toys on the floor.

It's so easy to clean: tray is light and easy to remove and wash, and it doesn't have any hard-...

Safari highchair great

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

This is a great affordable space saving high chair.  I needed that the high chair be small. Our home is small so we wanted something that isn't going to take up a lot of space. The Safari high chair fit this description. When it is not in use,you simply slide it out of the way. If we need further space, the legs of the high chair quickly snap off to allow for even more storage. I wanted ia high chair that was easy to clean.  Most importantly it was so cheap  and it was okay quality.  I don't agree with spending so much on a high chair.  It's only used for such a short period of time.  This is a good compromise at between cost and quality.  You get what you pay for with Ikea stuff so its definitely not for everyone.  I highly recommend it however.  I hope this review has been helpful to you all.  I look forward to see what others think about the Ikea high chairs and other baby and kid products.

Simple high chair for those tired of all the unnecessary stuff!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

For those tired of all the "extra stuff" coming with high chairs these days, the Atilop high chair from IKEA may be for you!  It is nothing else but a high chair.  It is small made of light weight white plastic.  It can me used with the detachable tray or as a "booster" and slide right up to the table with the big folks.  It has no plush cushions to clean, just wipe it down and it is ready to go again.  The legs can be easily detached so you can take it with you (although it is not advertised as a "portable chair".  And it has the necessary belt straps to keep the little squirmers in place.  IKEA does sell an "infant insert" for this chair, but to me it looks to be better suited for children who are already sitting independantly.Bottom line:  If simpllicity is your thing then run to your nearest IKEA and pick up the Antilop (did i mention it's only $18.99???).  RUN!!!

A good product for the price

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We recently bought an Antilop chair after shopping around a bit, and just couldn't pass up the great deal it was for a simple, neat design. Other fancier ones had patterns or bad colors, and features we really didn't need. IKEA did have 2 other colors available at the time, but the blue and the red would really have clashed with our decor.

This high chair is very stable, very easy to clean, and comes with a tray that wraps around the sides to catch items that aren't falling off staight ahead. We did get the optional inflatable pillow ($2) to fit our 4-month-old in it so that he wouldn't slouch or slip out the front. Now he can sit with us at the dinner table and play with plastic spoon, before he's even old enough to eat along with us.

My only issue is that we sometimes get our feet caught in the legs as they are angled out for extra stability. For this reason, we've placed it on the side of the table that gets the least traffic.

IKEA High Chair is an awesome buy

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This is the second high chair tha we have got for our son. The first one was one of those higher end brand ones that was super pricey and had all sorts of features, but it just didn't fit our baby boy. He is broad shouldered and could barely move in it so then we wanted something more simple that didn't curve around our son so that he would be able to move and reach his food. Our friend suggested this one and we were kind of hesitant when we saw it thinking yeah right look how cheap it is but we got it and we love it! It is such a simple high chair and very affordable for those on a budget. It is super light weight and can be easily cleaned. I love how easy it is to take apart and bring with us if we're going to have dinner at a friends who don't have young children. This high chair can easily sit at the table with the rest of the family without a tray on it as well. We just love the simplicity of this one and will definitely recommend it to friends and family in the future.

IKEA Antilop High Chair is lightweight and easy to clean.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My husband's aunt bought one of these IKEA Antilop High Chairs for our oldest daughter when she was a year old and it worked great.  Of course it didn't take long for her to figure out how to unhook the safety belt, but that wasn't a problem since we only put her in it when she ate something and either myself or my husband was sitting right beside her.  We had a detachable tray to put on it, but you can also push the chair up to the table and eliminate the need for the tray.  When she moved on to a booster seat and my youngest daughter began using the chair, we noticed that there was a crack in the plastic that the leg attached to.  I was disappointed when we had to throw...

No-frills, gets-the-job-done high chair

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

With our first child, we got a clip-on high chair.  After visiting family who had this high chair, we purchased one for ourselves and put our clip-on chair away.  This chair is pretty simple - plastic seat and tray and four legs.  But, because of that, it is really easy to use.  It cleans up very easily because there aren't folds and fabric and difficult-to-reach places.  It is easy to take apart, which makes travelling with it pretty easy.  It is actually easy for kids to sit up in and our kids have been happy in it.  There is only one strap, so I think this seat is better for older infants and toddlers.  We have started our other two children in our clip on high chair and then moved them to this one when they could support themselves better.  The price of this high chair is very affordable and works just as well as much pricier ones.  I would highly recommend purchasing this high chair.

Antilop High Chair a great budget buy

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This is my second high chair.  The first one's still in good shape, but it's such a pain to clean!  I love how streamlined this chair is.  I haven't actually used it yet since I'm between high chair children, but I know we will love it.  It was very easy for my husband to put together, and it's very unobtrusive in our home.  It doesn't take up a ton of space, and when we're finished using it, it will store pretty easily.  The only thing I might like to see on it is some optional casters.  However, for the money it's a great buy.  The height is not adjustable, but that's part of what makes it cheap and simple.  It isn't meant for tiny babies, but tiny babies don't need to eat food!  It will work just find once my son is sitting independently and able to eat purees.  It has a strap on it as well as a bar between the legs to keep the baby from sliding out.  There are plastic caps on the legs to prevent scratches on the floor.  I think we're going to love this simple chair.

Great highchair

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We narrowed it down to this high chair and a two hundred dollar chair.  I decided to buy this one first, because it was so affordable, I did not have much to lose. It is a great highchair!  I love how easy it is to clean. There is no fabric, no crevices for food to be trapped in.  The tray comes off pretty easily for cleaning.  It is so much cheaper than other high chairs.  Only $25 for the chair and tray.  You could easily take this on a road trip by removing the legs and tossing it in the trunk.  I use it as my primary chair, but it would also be a great chair for grandma or grandpa's house or a second home.  I love that it looks so modern, but others may not.  It's lightweight, so there's no problem dragging it from room to room.  The tray is smallish, but that does not bother me.  There is also a bit of a gap between baby and tray, leaving space for food to fall.  Oh well, like I said, at least the clean up is easy!

The Best High Chair EVER

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

After I had my first chld I began my quest for the perfect high chair. I did not want a big bulky seat that would be the focal point of my entire kitchen. I wanted something sleek that would blend in but still be safe and fully functional. When I found this high chair at Ikea I was in my glory. Its skinny legs are very sturdy but make it seem like a smaller chair than the huge clunkers I saw at other stores. When I saw the price tag... I was thrilled. The tray is sold separately for around five dollars. This way, if you just want a chair to pull up to the table you can buy just the chair AND if for some reason your tray gets destroyed by your precious angels : ) You can purchase a new tray ...

portable yet bulky full-height chair

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We had seen a couple of our friends with this IKEA Antilop highchair, and since we were unhappy with our Chicco Caddy hook-on chair, we decided to try this one. The price is excellent...$25 for chair and tray, and there are three colors to choose from (white, blue, red...we chose blue). THe chair is in 3 parts...tray, seat, and a set of 4 lightweight coated legs. Apparently the seat and tray can go right in the dishwasher. It is fairly easy to set up...you just stick the legs in the holes, and twist and push until the little metal protrusion snaps in place. Then you insert the tray and snap it down. THere are straps that come with it, but they seem worthless. We can't figure out how t...

Ikea Antilop high chair is the BEST

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I bought the Ikea Antilop high chair because I wanted something that was sturdy, portable, nice looking, does not take up a ton of space and is easy to clean.

The Ikea Antilop high chair has surpassed all my expectations! I love how it has a nice clean line look and you can even buy a cutelittle cushion for the back if you want but it really does not need it.

My two year old has used her Ikea antilop high chair for everything from eating to painting, playing and even watch television in since she could sit up. It was one of the few places she enjoyed sitting. The BEST part is taht no matter what kind of mess she made in or on it I was able to very easliy clean it off, heck you can even just take it out in the yard and hose it off if you wanted!

We even took the Ikea Antilop high chair to grandpa's house for Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved how you could simply pop the legs off to fit it in even the smallest of cars.

Great highchair, small footprint

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased this IKEA high chair at a garage sale a couple of years ago.  We had just moved from a large home into a smaller one with a very tiny kitchen.  We had a big high chair that was great because it could roll around and recline, but was very bulky and did not fit at all in our new eating area.  I had read good reviews about this high chair, so was happy to find it for really cheap.  I am so happy that I bought it.  It is durable, easy to clean (no cover for food to get stuck on or it), and doens't take up very much space.  In fact, it is easily disassembled for travel and packs small (for that is the way of IKEA)!!  I love the color as well (we have a red one)-it adds a little punch to the kitchen.  I have recommended this high chair to many of my friends.  My daughter loves it and with what I know now, I would have bought it full price at IKEA (I think it runs about $15-not bad!).

super cheap, durable, stylish IKEA Antilop high chair

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We initially bought this high chair because we already had a booster seat, and didn't want to spend alot on a high chair to use during the in-between time until our baby fit into the booster.  And it's $20-ish price was fantastic.  But we ended up never getting around to using the booster seat. Our son loved it and used it until (at age 2 1/2) we had to move him out so his baby brother could use it.

We liked the modern styling and it's lightweight look and weight. We've used the Antilope for both our children, and it looks pretty much the same as it did when we bought it.  It's cleans well and doesn't really show any wear.  It's easy to move around, and the legs come off...
